The top pic is the driver seat back, stripped of all of the soft material.

Bottom pic is complete driver seat. That is what I'm hoping my upholstery work looks like when done.

The Coral is awesome. Looking forward to seeing it complete. I stripped down all of the seat parts, frame, backs etc, and painted them using rattle can pewter paint ( I think from JT outfitters). Also used the same paint for my cluster and glove box door.

The stripped seat back shows that the seat back and springs were powder coated prior to adding foam and cover.

Best seat covers in terms of quality and price. CCOT seems to imply theirs is the best available in quality and fit

I installed SOR in mine. But I did get samples of vinyl from both SOR and Cruiser Corps before ordering. I went with SOR because the coral color was a better match to the remains of the original coral covers on my seats. The CC vinyl was heavier, really good quality stuff, but it was really just dark tan, not coral. I did not get samples from CCoT.

I bought the SOR kit and had an upholstery shop install it. Came out great. On the back jump seats, I saw a photo on a craigs list ad that I really liked, and will have my shop make the covers from scratch. The jump seats in the photo reflect the pleats on the front seats and ties everything together visually. I think its an improvement over the stock flat "school bus" seat interior.

I'm starting with the driver seat.

Remove the hinge bolts to separate the seat into two pieces.

Remove the screws at the perimeter of the seat back and pull the seat back off.

This seat back had some hog rings, stuffing, burlap, foam and lots of dust.

I pulled it all off and trashed it.

There's the frame, the back panel, and of course my tub with hardware collection.

I removed 4 nuts (12mm) to separate the frame from the seat bottom.

The slider tracks can be separated from the seat bottom by removing 4 more nuts. You have to slide the tracks back and forth to get to all of the nuts.

I intend to further disassemble the track thingamajigs to clean and lubricate them.
