On the front floor mat, maybe do like the factory did and mold in the spot where the PTO shifter would go (when optioned) and the t-case shifter would go (when optioned without vac shift)? If people want to cut around those lines for a stock 4spd, floor shift t-case and PTO, they can. If they need to cut elsewhere for the FJ60 H55 shifter, that's on them.

This is the way they do it for current 7x series floor mats: shifter hole, xfer hole and PTO hole are all there with serrations. You cut them open and out if you want them.

Is that the one I gave you Mark??

Yes indeed it is Mr. Mace. Which is exactly why it is not for sale. You can correct me if I am wrong, but I thought it would be in keeping with the spirit in which you gave it to me to offer Roger the opportunity to reproduce it.

Sounds Like a great use of it to me!

But it is yours, you can do whatever you wish with it :)

My 68/69 has one of those floor dimmer switches......I love it. Not sure if it works yet or not at this point.

Funny, I don't recall seeing a 40 in your sigline.:p

How the :flipoff2: are you Nolen?

I'd be in for one of the dimmer switch boots. I took an old ripped one that came in a box of parts I bought off E-Bay and used some rubber glue to repair the rips. Then I used black Plasti-dip and put several coats on it, inside and out. It LOOKS OK but I doubt it would last long in the position it's in.

And now that you mention it, that's how 60/62 carpets are: perfed on the back to be cut out for various tranny & case shifters, but from the top side it just looks like carpet.
Maybe printing the cutouts on the bottom would be helpful for the repro 40 floor mat, so there's not a bunch of overlapping shapes molded on top...

I really like this idea to have the markings on the underside!

I agree with the above ideas about marking the underside of the mat for the various cutouts. That would also benefit those of us with V8 conversions with the shifter moved forward...

If you have the molded cutouts/patterns on top why is it needed on the underside? If you don't use one of the spots you don't cut it. If you do use a spot you cut it. Maybe I'm missing something... Wouldn't be the first time. :hmm:
I think the idea is that for non-standard shift patterns, having the markings on the underside means that the unused markings will not show when installed. It may look weird having cutouts that are not centered over th he 4-speed points.

Oh so you don't want any of the molded cutouts on top... Seems like a much smaller pool of vehicles for that application and since Racer is trying to create a more OEM like mat the OEM cutouts would be provided. But he'll need to speak to that.

As long as we're talking about cutouts...Does anyone think these 3 notches should not be pre-cut?
There's always a trade-off between having something that's plug and play vs. something that can be customized to fit different needs. I believe these notches will fit '74 to '78, but I'm not sure about the earlier years.

I vote for pre-cut notches for the seat post. But that only because I'm dangerous with a blade in my hand. Skinning, eviscerating & quartering a deer is one thing, but a new cruiser floor mat....well that takes a different type of surgical precision that I'm not sure I possess. :hillbilly:

@Racer65 you saw me cut with a blade (don't mess with me or I'll cut ya!) so I'm fine with no cutouts. However, having templates available for marking where to cut would be nice. Both my Cruisers will need those cutouts so I'm fine with them too. Just thinking about greater appeal... ;)

New product coming in a couple of weeks:

You may be wondering what's the big deal. It's just a hose. Well, not any hose, but the M11 size hose that is unobtainium. It's the clutch hose for 7/'70 and earlier FJ40, as well as the brake hose for FJ25.

It's completely custom built to DOT spec. It costs a pretty penny to make this happen, so I hope a few people need it!

The 7/'70 and earlier clutch hose / FJ25 brake hose is now in stock!

Same thing, paid and was shipped very shortly after. Even refunded me $5 on shipping after it ended up being less. Thanks so much!
