Yeah, I know. I have a fire extinguisher now but it's a cheapo and is just laying on the back seat floor wedged with some leather gloves. One will be going in the 1993 passenger side before it leaves your driveway.

Just wanted to let everyone know how accommodating Joey was in helping give us the peace of mind of having our extinguisher mounted up for our trip to Tahoe last week. Even with all of the unforeseen small issues/delays, he made sure we received one of his original working copies of the FEM in time for our trip. Can't say enough good things about Joey's customer service!
Awesome as always & yes everything went great on our trip, first time our little ones saw snow! Btw, per your suggestion I held off on installing the ChairLift, but when I get the new mount was wondering if you also had instructions for putting them in, couldn't find any in the packaging or your faq's on your website?Aw thanks man!

all that is needed is to drill out the rivets and spot welds of the front feet and then bolt on the spacer. You will want to remove the two bolts that holds the following nut to the rail and then through bolt both the following nut and the lift spacer to those holes.
Let me know if that doesn't make sense.

Honestly, when I first saw these I was of the mindset of "neat, won't NEED it but will buy it because it's cool". I was wrong.
No, it wasn't a life or death situation but it could've been. And for as much money as we put in to our rigs for frivolous stuff there is no reason not to have it.
And the reality is that the 80 is complete overkill for 90 percent of us. We'd probably be just fine with a 4Runner or something. But we buy the 80 because of "what if". Well, then we should have a fire extinguisher for "what if". And we should have a convenient, safe mount for "what if".

I have a fire extinguisher with a good mount that is on the outside of the vehicle (tire carrier) so I've been 'prepared' on some level. But having a second one inside the vehicle is not a bad thing.

Yep. I will be ordering a FEM-1 for the driver side and two sets of FEM-1 and FEM-2 for my other two 80s. It really is silly not to have at least one.
Back in 2001 (maybe 2002) I drove from Indianapolis to Terre Haute, IN 3-4 days per week (Indiana State University was a client of mine). I was a roof consultant and carried a "Core bag" in my vehicle (either my Taco or my 80). My core bag had a propane torch for doing torch repairs on built up roofs after I had cut a core. I also kept a 2.5 lb ABC fire extinguisher in the bag in case I started a fire on a roof. I was driving back from Terre Haute one afternoon and noticed a car ahead of me smoking like crazy. They pulled over and I pulled behind them and jumped out and grabbed my fire extinguisher. They had hit an dog on the interstate (
) and it had gotten hung up on the muffler and caught fire. When they pulled over the flames started to be obvious. I sprayed underneath the car and put it out. The vehicle still had to be towed because there was significant damage (probably brake lines were melted). But it didn't go up in flames. They had two kids in car seats in the back. Ever since then I have always had a fire extinguisher in my cars. Now it is way more convenient and ready. And it looks super cool too!
