I wanted to share a fire extinguisher setup that I'm really happy with. I've tried a few solutions and this one is my favorite.

I had a Desert Does It fire extinguisher mount that I removed from my 200 series, and I bought a stainless steel bracket from an outfit in Australia.

It bolts in using the front seat mounting bolts. This setup closely follows the lines of the floor.

Nice setup! What fire extinguisher is that and what size DDI mount (if you don’t mind me asking so I can shamelessly copy it)

From the photo it looks like a small Buckeye brand 1:A 10B:C fire extinguisher, Just remember one thing, if you have to use a dry chem extinguisher on a fire, say in the engine compartment, you'll have one he11 of a mess to clean up,

A better option if you can afford it, would be a small Halon extinguisher, but the price difference is HUGH, like hundreds of dollars difference, On the plus side you'll have no messy powder to clean up after a fire, because unlike the dry chem extinguishers Halon leaves no residue,

Halon Fire Extinguishers are recommended for protection of delicate, sensitive and expensive computers, electrical equipment, tapes and film, automotive and aircraft engines, laboratory chemicals and equipment. Halon Extinguishers can also be used in bedrooms, home offices, home kitchens, cars, and garages. Halon Extinguishers are used for fighting class B and class C fires (And sometimes A Fires). Halon uses a liquefied gas, pressurized with nitrogen, which discharges as a vapor causing no cold or static shock and no impairment of the operator's vision.

Thanks.

I dug up the email with my receipt. It is the large.

The extinguisher is a Buckeye from Amazon.

Agreed, Halon would be superior, but it is outside my budget. I'd rather have something than nothing.

Another option for an extinguisher that doesn't leave a mess behind after you use it, is a CO2 extinguisher, Below is a photo showing the size difference between the 2 1/2 pound Halon extinguisher, and a 2 1/2 pound CO 2 extinguisher, As you can see there is a small size difference between the 2, These small 2 1/2 pound CO 2 extinguishers like the one in this photo, are carried on large military transport aircraft, From time to time they come up for sale as surplus at military surplus stores for very reasonable prices, I picked up 2 of these for 20 bucks each, and they were both brand new in the factory Amerex box, plus they both came with heavy duty mounting brackets,
