Can someone show some pics of how those extinguisher brackets fit using the existing (?) front seat mounting points? Do they attach straight to the two front mounting points allowing the seat to still be slid forward/back as normal? I don't have an extinguisher in my 80 and would like to have one (perhaps two). At present I have a Narva magnetic inspection light sitting against the front of the left (pass side being RHD vehicle) front bucket seat mounting floor member.

But nothing is sitting in that same location under the front of the right (drivers side) seat.

Craig.

That is literally where they go and yes, uses the OEM bolts.

I'll hunt down some photos.

PS received and installed. Fit like a glove! Packaged for shipping in Joeys perfect OCDness!!:) Thought I'd used quickfist to mount extinguisher on tool box extension but found I'd only used the supplied plastic mount that came with it.

What types of mounts are being used? The H3R in Wits link is just a bit pricey.

Received my mount earlier today, I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly it arrived.

Thank you NLXTACY

I was gonna include the hole for the index nub on the QF but it interfered with another mounting option.

Holes on your mount lined up perfectly with the wall hanger that came with my extinguisher.

Order sent....

Just got mine in the mail, and will post picture(s) when I install it.

40 pages on Mounting a Freaking Fire Extinguisher

How do these rigs even make it out of the Garage?

Found some pics via Dr Google. One thing I didn't think of is that my 80, and in fact every Aus 80 I've seen, has manual front seats and I got thinking that the operating lever to release the rails might foul on extinguisher mounts. Has that been considered at all? The only 80's with power seats here would be the very high end spec ones - VX I think. My 80 is a DX base model with no power windows or power mirrors or power seats or power antenna, etc. Basic and field-reliable.

Works fine. @bryson has the cloth seats

Yep, it fits great with cloth/manual seats. More clearance with them than with the leather/power seats actually. The lever for fore/aft seat adjustment will slightly interfere with the Locking Lid for this mount if you decide to run it, but not enough to cause any real issues. I just slide the seat all the way back to access the lid.

Ta thanks. I just fitted some brand new Black Duck canvas covers to the front seats recently and like manual seats as they don't have electrics to break. I'm not sure I'd have a need for a locking lid. But I think I really should have at least one extinguisher as the more we build into our 4wd's the more valuable they are to us even if it's not actual value.
Now just need to hang out for a new production run of mounts.

Any news on a future run of these (for both sides)?
