Toyota shipped them without a pad

Generally if it was not available in the U.S. or Canada the dealer either cannot or will not order it even if it is still available.
Ok so where can we look up diesel part numbers and prices?

dip stick or gauge as toyota calls it

application is a 3FE, have checked on all F and 2F motors 82,78,77 and 64(as well as 86 and 90) and its a direct replacement for all of them

bonus is the rubber yellow handle.

they fit so nice and snug....reminds me of my.......

the hose would also be for a 40, its the window washer hose.

disregard the check valve, unless you have euro spec headlight washers(its for the 60)

this is a 77 or so 2F

1964 F motor, notice the seal is different on original but it works just the same

Fit a hj45?

Which shows available for ~$220

Multiple-Part Name Code - Toyota (77001-60011)

The '68-'72 tank is 77100-60012 and is available for ~$360

Tank Assembly Fuel - Toyota (77100-60012)

Wonder why the 77001-60011 doesn't indicate it being a tank?

I called that website that your post links to and they said that it supersedes to 77100-60012 (which is for '68 to '72). Two problems with buying that part: 1) I dont know if it will fit, 2) it costs $150 more. i think i better just get the crack in mine fixed. Thanks all for the help!

mgenotte,

The part number I gave you is directly from the USA dealer's parts catalog printed in 1967, September, for 1967 FJ40s imported into the US. (I assumed you had a US-spec FJ40 Land Cruiser.) The world catalog printed in 1968 shows that 77001-60011 was the tank starting in May of 1965. It also shows 77001-60012 with ISO fittings (vs JIS.) The 1969 world catalog adds 77001-60013, also ISO. This series of numbers then increases with 77001-60014, then 77001-60015 all the way to January of 1975. So much for numbers--they are interesting, but often of no help with early trucks. Of course all bets are off if someone made changes to your truck after it left the factory.

If you are looking to replace your fuel tank, you should be aware that changes and deletions occurred to tanks throughout this series--for a variety of reasons. If you like your tank, its fittings and details, and believe it is correct for your specific vehicle, you can try to match-up those details with the various tanks that are currently still available. If nothing seems an easy fit, you may need to update your tank, its plumbing, and fittings to something from a later year. With the gas tank sitting inside the car with you, under the passenger seat, leaks, soon-to-be leaks, and fumes suggest either a new tank or one that has been professionally tested and judged sound. Best of luck to you.

Hi Marco,

This is Petra, Cruiser Guy's widow

This is Petra. I can't help you with this question, sorry. Cruiser_Guy died more than four years ago and with him a vast pool of knowledge.
Having said this, I am continuing living a life if adventure, though. I am currently in North Africa.

US and foreign Toyota supply of OEM headlight assemblies are now gone and discontinued...
