Why do you think it needed tightening? But that's for a different thread.

Soooo....went and looked at a '94 today. Just showing some pics of what I snapped while there. Not sure what is on top of the engine....ideas? Almost looked like fiberglass....

I will post body shots, etc once I pick it up and get it cleaned up. This is going to take some scrubbing and elbow grease.

I am going to have to organize a HAMOM weekend to swap out parts etc. ;-)

JB weld on the valve cover.

That's not wrenching, that's looking. This isn't "The Looking Thread" :flipoff2:

Also congrats :flipoff2:

Goes for you too @erymer, this isn't "The Buying Thread" :hillbilly:

Mounted my new-to-me 42" TSLs tonight. Took about 2.5 hours to mount all four.

Yes, wrenching, 8 nuts per wheel, each torqued to 100ft/lbs.

Haha. Well, technically I had one wrenching question. I will post pics and more questions once I pay for it and it is a done deal....in the looking thread. ;-)

Installed an Iron Man 4x4 Commercial Deluxe on the LX470 this morning.View attachment 1498089

let me know your thoughts on it off road.... i've heard many times that the ride on dirt roads is pretty bad on the iron man.

Was thinking on their TB's at some point since I can pick them up at metal tech and save shipping

We took it out yesterday on some forest service roads by the house and they was some vibration we don't see in the 80 with an ARB. It is definitely lighter that the ARB I think the iron man is a couple mm thinner. Overall we are satisfied so far we got it as a scratch and dent so couldn't pass it up. Install was super easy though which was nice and no modifactions to the frame horns. Also to note on the LA we didn't have to modify antenna mounts on the bumper like we would have had to with an ARB.

I think I left my brain at home this morning.... for some reason I read your original post as installing an iron man lift.

that is a nice looking bumper though

We'll as we all know buying is usually the precursor to wrenching right. Lol :flipoff2:

12v pod came in today so last minute "wrenching" before hurricane creek went down tonight. Sorry the pics are dark. I'll get more clear shots tomorrow. 12v socket, dual USB ports and a voltage meter so I can keep tabs on my battery.

Interested to see how you plan on securing that for theft. I just got the little westinghouse generator and I'm thinking about the same issue if it's 20-30 feet away to make sure nobody just walks away with it. Probably for another thread....

really liking how this is coming together. Nice work dude.

Im not overly concerned about theft on this upcoming trip, but I do intend on riveting a hasp to the frame, or just run a bike lock cable through the carrying handle on the panel, and locking it to the trailer. 25 ft away would pose a problem, but we've got 3 bike lock sets we can daisychain if needed. LOL Same thing with the gen. you can run a cable through the handle, and lock it up. With the weather forecast being mid 70s for the high, and mid 50s for the low, the gen might not get used at all. ;)

Eric, when youre ready to wire up your trailer, ive got a bunch of wire and some other stuff left over. we can work something out.

Try to use only pure gas in the westy. Ethanol junk will mess up the fuel lines. Take it out, add the oil, and let it run in the driveway for a while. The first one i ordered from amazon had been bounced by ups, so the plastic case was cracked. it had a horrible rattle from underneath too. gen #2 is much quieter.
