Truck is an 07. Last year of the 6.0.

its a shame you don't know someone in the Raleigh area that has first hand experience recently on those things... ;)

the 07 was the best year of the 6.0 but making sure everything was done is still a great thing. My buddies was the fastest truck i'd ever driven and one of the only things that ever scared me driving.... a crewcab long bed pitching itself sideways when I romped on it at 35 mph was a code brown moment. LOL

Sorry to hear it Del. Would be more than willing to give you a hand bulletproofing if you were doing it yourself, having just done mine earlier this year. It's not that bad.

If you're having it towed to your house, I would like to come by to help diagnose. Could be the HPOP, but could be other things too. Labor for replacing the HPOP isn't nearly as bad as replacing the head gaskets, and the HPOP doesn't need to be removed to bulletproof (although the turbo does, but that's easy).

Here to help if I can.

Johnny, pm sent

Truck is at home. Had it dropped off here since I was only 2 miles from My house at the gas station when it failed to start.

Yeah I have had zero issues with it ever and my plan was to bullet proof it after owning it for 10 years. So it is an expense that I have planned for just would have liked to do it on my terms. And I hate for a vehicle to leave me stranded. It's just bad vibes all around.

Not quite wrenching. I'm more of a wire biter truth be told.
Bench testing the new head unit with reverse camera. Don't forget your 12v cheater cord and alligator jumpers!

I guess I did fix that rattling tailgate latch, also.

Always nice to have a small project that goes smoothly and turns out just as you'd hoped it would.

Damn radiator fell out of Moonshine

Since the radiator fell out, might as well do something I've been planning on for a while.

Fixed the abs after it got ripped out by a hidden branch in a mudhole outside hot springs a few weekends back. Luckily yanked the pins right out of the plug but no damage. Thankfully borrowed some concrete and could hide in the shade of the truck during the fix as its a bit swampy out for rolling in gravel.

Looks like it yanked my axle breather extension completely out as well :/

Hey Johnny, is there anything wrong with your core support? I saw you're looking for another one. Mine is in sad shape, so I would be interested in yours if it's in good shape.

Yes, lots. Rot in the bottom half, broken captured nuts all over forcing me to weld components together, etc.

Spent 2 hours wrestling with a brake caliper replacement on a 94 Honda. I f-ing HATE northeast cars.... damn thing was so rusted and fused together. Had to break out the sawzall to remove the damn parking brake connections....

Good news is, with the wheels off I realized the tires are already bald on the inside track....

Yeah, northeast cars are no bueno.

A special thanks to @slcfj62 for posting up the thread that is the "how to" for upgrading the door locks and windows.
Power Windows and Door Locks--Permanent Fix!

I did the door locks on Hound today and they fire up and down with authority!

I cleaned up the pitted switches, beware, putting the switch assembly back together takes patience and then some.

Just wanted to go on record that tonight my wife helped me with a full exhaust removal and replacement and she offered! An extra set of hands meant shiny new stainless exhaust system went in with no scratching or banging on the driveway. Went from factory 2.5" to full catless 3" invidia on my wrx. Sounds soooo good.

Well If coolers are wrenching. I've gotta share my find. These metal drawers are lightweight, super sturdy, slide open easy and should work quite well for a drawer system.

I have a lot of them.

Well then... Beretta 391 Urika 2. Choke wrench. Righty tighty. No truer definition of wrenching, I suppose.:poop:

Did you only wrench it, or did you also use it? :)
