Two-tone FJ40? Original paint?

Quick question for you 40 experts. I usually reside in the 60s forum..

Were FJ40s ever painted two-tone like the 55s? I saw one recently that was white up to where the top comes off, green on top of the doors, hood around the windows, etc.. and then with the classic white roof.

The pain looked original in terms of age/patina/fading, etc.. but I've never seen one like that and my google searching failed to reveal any that looked like that.

Thanks for your help. Still trying to convince that missus that I NEED an FJ40 to go with my FJ60

There is a pic of that two tone color scheme you were talking about floating around here on mud somewhere - pic looks like they came straight off the boat or something. I think the oem foglights were on them

It was actually a pic with the windshields folded down like that but there were more than one painted that way and they were lined up.

The roofs and bezels are painted white or black depending on the factory color of the FJ40. They are all 2 tone.

Okay, so there are threads where people post up their Dune Beige (or pic your favorite color) rigs. But no threads with two-tone paint schemes on FJ40's. I realize this isn't common but still I'd like to see what the collective MUD family has to offer in terms of two-tone imagery. I expect...

This one was at a farm liquidation sale down here in Marvel, Co that I missed. Dont know what it went for. Should have posted the info in MUD upon retrospect.

I know the roof and bezel may have been painted white or black, but , maybe I was wrong but I interpreted 2 tone being the actual body. Just as some show the top half and bottom half of the body. Seems from what I have seen 2 tone are all repaints. I never seen a factory 2 tone.

When was the cap on the top blacked black at the factory? Maybe @JohnnyC know of a market to specialty like military but never seen a FJ40 imported to the US that had a black top.
