Not really sure what the correct name for this part is... see picture.

Anyway, the one on my '74 (1.5F-2bolt exhaust manifold flange) is shot.

Seems like an easy request, I've checked with a few parts stores and looked online with no luck. Only thing I've found so far is the complete exhaust pipe from SOR for $75. Not gonna cut it.

Apparently this part is "different" that a standard two-bolt exhaust flange in the way it fits in the bottom of the manifold. I have messed with exhaust comparatively little in the 9 years I've been messing with cruisers so I don't know.

Thanks for the help.

Seems like a reasonable price for the exact part you need. [strike]You could find someone parting out an fj60 and get the manifold and the flange...[/strike]

and then screw around with 10mm vs. 12mm hardware... (Not to mention any of the other incompatibility issues) (only because there is not a :shaking: )

Look around at a good parts store or decent shop that does exhaust; they should be able to come up with something that will work for you bud.

Man-a-Fre ?

they sell the thing with their headers, not idea whether separately as well

have you tried SUMMIT in McDoungh GA.????????????
when i put on my headers, SUMMIT was the only place i could find with tons of muffler/tailpipe/ collector parts.....

Don't want the whole pipe, going to do my own exhaust and it will be very tucked up, unlike the factory pipe. By the time I pay SOR's handling fee  and shipping, I would have as much in that one pipe as it will cost me to do the entire exhaust.

FJ60 has a pretty different exhaust manifold. Now, if you were parting a '68 -'12/74 FJ40/55, we could talk :D

Exhaust shop is the next stop. Pep Boys claimed they could special order the part, but I refuse to deal with Pep Boys beyond buying crap off the shelf.

I was planning on buying my tube and mandrel bends from Summit, but haven't been able to find anything remotely close to this part on their website.

Thanks for the suggestions. I just can't believe people don't run across this issue more often and there isn't an easy solution.

try one from a gmc 270 engine most of the parts are real close.

For what is worth, when I transplanted a '85 FJ60 motor into my '74 FJ40, I had the same problem. I got a exhaust reducer coupling from Autozone that fit my stock exhaust pipe on one end and the manifold opening on the other end, then I cut a "flange " out of 1/4 plate steel, driled the holes for the mainfold studs, slid the coupler in so ~ 1/4" was exposed and welded it all up. Have been running it for >1,500 miles with no issues. total cost >$5

Looks like the link you sent would do the trick. Yes i used the standard donut gasket. My loose flange was OK, but the exhaust pipt was rotted away ( plus it was the wrong size). I will see if I have the old flange still you can have it if do.

Don't worry about the loose flange that the bolts go through, mine is ok as well, just the tube part that goes into the manifold and supports the donut gasket is shot, probably due to the horrendous exhaust leak I've had for years.

Well, got a donut gasket and stud& nut kit along with the right size exhaust coupling to make my own flange. Pulled the manifolds to find that mine has a big honking crack right in the center. Even though it doesn't appear to be leaking, there is no way I'm putting that back in there.

So the question now is, try to find a used manifold to match my intake, buy a matched 2F intake/exhaust manifold from an FJ60, or use a 3FE exhaust manifold and make my own y-pipe to connect the two.

Bonus of the 3FE manifolds is that they do not attach to the intake manifold, as the two threaded holes in my intake manifold are cracked. ACC Toyota (local shop) has a 3FE manifold I could have for cheap, just would take the extra work of making the y-pipe.

Looks like they'll fit, theres some interference with the gas pedal linkage, but not a big deal.
