It would be a lot of work @clrussell
@cims1970fj40 I actually used my log splitter as a press to bend the b pillar and then welded off the truck after test fitting
Happy to sell rims alone or with the tires. If you want just the rims I'll keep the tires for my crossfit friends. The rims use standard lug nuts.
$200 obo for 4 with or without the tires.
Once I got married and no longer had roommates to help me, I quickly stopped asking my wife to help bleed brakes and bought one of these (air powered vacuum bleeder).
Last master cylinder I installed (80 series non ABS in my FJ40 when I went to 4...
The most surprising part about that is @HENDOG actually knowing his way anywhere...well say it was the other guy!
He is a good friend of mine and I've unfortunately bought 2 Toyotas from him, you'd think I'd learn after 1 but I went back for more.
That's funny you have on of @HENDOG 's old 40's. First time I went to Tellico (I was 16) I was lost (before GPS) and Hendog and some other guys passed me on the way and showed me the rest of the way in. This was ~2004. Small world
^What he said. I made a rear driveshaft using scrap yard pipe, got it straight using two V-blocks and a dial indicator. Ran it for over a decade and 1000's of miles and many trails.
When I got my F.5 rig in late 99, I pulled the head and had friend of a friend do a cheapy going through and cleanup on it. While the head was off and to clean up the piston tops, I was one by one putting mineral spirits into each cylinder...
I installed a tandem booster from City Racer on my ‘74 and found it to be an increase in brake assist. I have large heavy tires and needed more braking force.
I would not buy what you linked personally
That particular carb is a CA ‘76 that was originally sold at Stancil’s Toyota in Placerville, which is notable as the first Toyota dealer in the Western US.
I had two carbs: One that ran and one that I used only to pass my smog check every...
I considered that option back in the day.
The upside… crazy low first gear for crawling.
The downside… for daily driving it’s a 3 speed that shifts like a tractor.
AA twin stick configuration to shift.
I chose to keep a stock 4 speed with...
After installing a SM420 in my FJ40 almost 20 years ago and recently swapping it out, I am not a huge SM420 fan. Just mentioning that in case you need to get into buying parts and lots of work to use it I would personally go a different route...
Toyota 11213-61011 (valve cover gasket for 81-87)
new in packaging
Don't need it anymore and figure someone else can use it. Send me $10 to cover flat rate envelope and it is yours. (Normally ~$25 plus ship and tax from Toyota Parts Deal)
@wngrog your project with the parking brake actuator plus the fact that the electric parking calipers on my wife's Bronco sent me on a google dive for these.
Fair point @cruisermatt on the emergency brake, but if you like rear disc like I do...
@cruisermatt now that Wilwood offers electronic parking brake calipers have you thought of that as an option?
I'm fortunate to have a split case with parking brake drum thanks to Valley Hybrids but if it weren't for that I'm intrigued by these...
