No I missed out on a 12ht from Jon. Some crossed wires was all. Anyway I did see that 2ht and it would be a good bet too. Not sure what the ask would be on it. This other parts rig was very reasonable for a engine tranny combo. I may be able to still sell some bits to cover some of the original pricing. Who isn't looking for an automatic trans to swap into a cruiser....

Hoping I can make a really cool driveline combo. End of feb will bring some extra goodies as funds allow. I'm so hoping to do a range box like nwf black box. That would be my crawl ratio over 100:1 and make the truck pretty versatile.

With the bump in power from the hz ill run 4.10 diffs as should rev comfortably on the highway even on 37s. I may keep my 456 but really think ill go 4.10

The t case on the troopy has the e brake built onto it. While still being a split case. It needs a rebuild bad so there is some work there. I also think is has the lower gearing at 2.29 vs 1.9 in my 60. It also is full manual shift. The 60 case is vac actuated. Could sell the 60 case as it was recently rebuilt too but we have enough cruisers around it likely makes sense to keep everything

This motor is 24v and the truck 12v. I need to be creative to get all that sorted. My plan is basically a 24v main starting system with a 12vauxillary. The auxiliary in this case though will run all the lights on the rig rather than just a radio. I have a great 24-12v converter for up to 60 amps so I should be just fine. That couples with my 2 deep cycle 6 volt batteries should offer lots of umph.

Way off in the future when I build a roof rack is like. 80-100w solar cell up top. Would only really work at 50 or so being flat mounted but would still trickle charge my systems.

I have spare 4:10 gears here collecting dust, only the rear will work for you though

What trans is it? A442?

I think it is an a440. Not sure the differences. This one mounts up to a split case.

If you happen to need an extra driver or passenger, hit me up; I'd be in for a road trip.

Ill keep ya posted. Char is the best copilot going so she gets first dibs. She also knows every cruiser head everywhere so that helps too.

Not too hard to swap 24-12, all you need is 12V alternator, 12V starter, and then a small selinoid in the injection pump. I just did this last year when I swapped a JDM engine into the mine truck, course the JDM didn't come with starter or alternator ;)

That's what I thought.

Thought I would throw it out there just in case.

I think is like to stay 24v. I've never been let down by have a 24v starting system in the cd weather. And like you said I think it will be easy to separate the two systems. Worst case I could add an additional 12v alt run off te engine but I'm not sure ill have space. I'm hoping I can re use my on board air comp again...

I hear you, I'm a big fan of the 24V system, I love my 24V 8274, and I just got the welder, which seems like it would run better on 24V. I always just ran a spare battery off a converter which was my seperate 12V system, then I could run my radio and aux lights right down to nothing over night and start up like nothing happend in the morning ;)

Even though I used to curse the 24V when I first got the truck and was learning, 3 years of running a 12V wagon has me missing my old 24V BJ42 :hillbilly:

I've got a pair of 4.11 diffs from 62s (and a pair from the pig) gathering dust in the shed as well. One in the rear with a lunchbox and Ryan's R&P to regear your ARB up front?

This 47 came with 4.11 too. Ill swap in my arb and likely add a Detroit or another arb.

Just my opinion, but I think 37's and 4.11's will make that truck a huge turd on the highway. 35's and 4:10's in my 80 is probably the limit...passing is sketchy at best. And that's with a 1-HDT an intercooler 17psi of boost... The HZ will feel pretty anemic...then again, now that I think of it... The 40 on 37's with 4:88's seems a bit steep on the highway...no OD tho... I guess if you got em' you might as well try em'...

Ya I know what your saying... My rational is this.

In my cranked 2H in a similar sized and weight rig I had 4.56 gears and 35's at first then moved to 37's. I had plenty of power to move the 37's and intact often felt wanting a 6th gear on the highway. Originally I thought the move to 37's would solve my longer legs quest but no real luck. This is why I figured I'd run the 4.11 on the 37's. If I want I can always move to the 4.56 after. The other thing I could do is shift to 4th. Then it is just like have 4.56 in the diffs....That was what I though about every time wanted to shift one more gear.... "if I'd just stuck with 4.11" We'll see...

At one point I ran some 35's on 3.7 gears on my 60. It was a highway bandit. That was pre 19psi and intercooler too.

Wicked fun

I put a deposit on the parts rig finally today after some wire transfer fun. Hoping to get there this weekend if the stars align!

There is power to be had in a 2f. Give it some credit. It's got tourque. Little head shave ,cam, you've got the header and exhaust. 3f head I believe. Its a reliable tank. Tbi or I've been researching propane. I bet you are close. Trail... With your unpublished Atlas purchase , you are gold. Contact'Mark Whatley in Alaska. Knows the 2f like I know barley and hops... Intimate. Rock doc has done the combo too...correct Curtis?

I gotta tell ya, it bugs me when people knock the 2f and 3fe. They are solid motors and in Alberta they will spin your tires in loon s***e.A naturally aspirated 3b will not.

Drunken rant over.

Yup, love my 2FE and plan to use my old 3FE In the pig. Would love to try a manual behind the 2FE :)

Though I'm not sure how we got on to gassers. You are a home brewer? I'll have to get back out there and talk suds with you.

What do you have against the F motor? :)

Im not a brewer more of a semi-pro taste tester.

The F motor now thats another story.

I really have to stop coming on here when I've had a few. Going to get myself in trouble one of these days.

Haha. I love driving the old pig around and am always impressed with its F.

F, 2F, 3B, 13BT, HZ. Shoulda just stuck with one.

A doner was picked up today. Sure it may not look like much but that is because it isn't much...
