Started working on the beb's. Not sure what set to order acl or Toyota. Also not sure of the markings on mine. They are looking at little worn. More pics later

How does the crank look? That looks like normal wear to me...at least they aren't all pitted with chunks missing...

Crank looks good. I'll pull the rest if the bearing caps and get pics if them all. Doesn't matter to much what shape they are in as they are being replaced. Now do I go mr t bearings or ACL

Those look pretty good..

Always a good idea to replace them anyways, when unknown last time replaced...

Whoa

That's one hell of a rig. Sure looks nice though I'm not a fan of flat black on a cruiser for some reason. 40k seems a little high too without seeing it up close and personal. That being said it is all the things alot of people want..

Today I ordered my Black box range box.... looking so forward to getting it in the lineup with the cruiser case. I'll have a 122:1 crawl ratio with this box and 4.11 diffs. Using the Grimjeeper calculator I'll be around 2000rpm at 60mph and 2250 at 70 or so. This was what I was trying to aim for.

I also ordered a bunch of parts from Dan @ 4wheel for the 1hz. New BEB, bolts, water pump, tensioner, timingbelt, and an upgraded clutch kit. I should have most of my engine maintenance items done this month and hope to have the trans mated to the engine.

Has anyone ever converted the vacuum shift t case to manual? The hzj77 donor is vac with 2.26 low and larger idler I think and the hj47 case is 1.96 smaller idler but manual shift. I'd like to install a rebuilt hybrid of the two with 2.26 low. large idler, manual shift and T case brake all in one package....

I'm pretty sure there have been a few FJ62 cases converted to manual, you could search and see what's involved. I'm planning on converting my piggy case to manual, have the manual shift chunk to do that now.

Edit: One such thread: https://forum.ih8mud.com/60-series-wagons/216335-vacuum-manual-t-case-conversion.html

Interesting on the black box. EBI just got a fresh batch of SM420 plates and I was going to order one, maybe I'll have to touch base with NorthWest and see if they can mate a 420 to a cruiser case. :hhmm:

Edit: Looks like $440 for an adapter to mate BlackBox to 420... :frown:

Are you Beta testing that black box for them? Last I heard (recently) they had only ever manufactured one unit. I'm sure my info is out of date though. I sure hear a lot of talk about it with the rarity of the Toybox.

I'm interested too. I've only heard of delays regarding production. The same as Awl-teq my last conversation with Nwf resulted in them just having the prototype.

Well I wouldn't say beta testing but I'll be doing install instruction document up for them. Bring your welder!

They mentioned that it could be ready in a couple weeks

I hope NWF comes through for ya cause im with kevin and dean. Just call them a lot and make sure they dont take 6 months.

Great to see so much progress on your rig too

Got an email from nwf. They are a week away from building it they say. Wait and see. Trans and t case is on the shop floor. Grabbed some new parts from 4 wheel auto too
