8 guys lift the troopie body of the red shop trailer onto the dolly in the shop.

tons of questions since most of the shop employees have never seen a Land Cruiser let alone a troopie and transported from Austrailia ...

Paul and the boys are excited to be able to participate in the build by doing the bodywork refurbishing. These guys have a wicked reputation for excellent work. one of their restorations sold this past weekend at Barret Auction for $145K which was $60K under what the vehicle is worth.

the troopie looks small in their shop.

the owner has requested no pics of the body work in progress

sorry guys.

A little strange considering the very good and detailed posts to date.

Secret process maybe.

Sit back folks and enjoy  untill the next episode.

nah, nothing so dramatic.
he just wants a bit of privacy for a bit.
i completely understand his view at this point.

anyway, it is his build, his money, his dream ... we can all respect his wishes.

To be absolutely clear, when you say no more photos of " body work" will be forthcoming you are only referring to the Toyota and not the other "bodies" that are featured in this thread. If you are going to stop those also I will probably just take up golf and quit visiting this forum.:D

just the body refurbishment
once it is back in my hands then photos will resume ...
next week i will have photos of the hood support and scoop.

"photos of the hood support and scoop." ......my friend those are not the body parts I was referring to.:D

3200kg isn't far of some of the fully decked out 80s and 105 series getting around,
It'll make those leaf springs nice and comfy :D

Agreed, .... at least around these parts. :hillbilly:

Great work Wayne !

I am still trying to find my pics of those same damn spiders uncovered in my rig

Just a thought MK61+, you might consider beefing up the brakes with that kind of weight plus whatever gear you will haul. Might be tough to stop so quickly without beefed up brakes.

Otherwise you have avery unique and well equipped rig there. Congrats!

amazing work, love love love the chassis and everything round it. question though, the roofrack, looks like total overkill. its heavy, bad for c.o.g. and aerodynamics. i wouldnt like to be putting fuel in that thing. but thats me. id design a much more minimalist structure i think.

every a-hole has an opinion, might as well chime in with mine! this thread really makes me wanna do a frame off to work on the chassis

its a pretty frikkin serious machine, well wear

the roof rack is aluminum so the weight is minimal but yes it is heavy.
it was designed dual purpose, i could have made a light weight unit but then the bridging would be stored either on the sides of the vehicle or inside. this keeps the bridging handy and the sides clean.

no?

ahhh, didnt read the whole thread, or realise there was bridging. needs must then.

If there is one build I really it's this one this is really a dream machine for all with the overlanding blood in their veins.
I might've missed it can you tell me what the thickness of the alu panels sheets are.
I'm currently equipping my Troopy and love the hatches ,space well utilized
Great project
Johan
