Hey.

Recently started selling TROA products for FJ40/43/45's.
I'm not stocking anything currently and most of what I have sold thus far are soft tops but they do have some nice body panels and what not. The soft top and frame kits are nicely made and fairly well thought out. I'll be doing an install series of posts at some point.

Feel free to ask questions here or DM for purchase inquiries.

Thanks,
Ian

good luck with your endeavor...

have they started making early windshield frames (upper single motor) and/or the earlier hard doors ?
Thank you, really just dabbling as a side gig.

As of now no on both of the early parts you asked about. I believe they are working off the later dies for the most part.
I will however ask what the likelihood is.

Here is a link to some rear Saloon style soft top ambulance doors I have for sale in the classifieds. These are/were samples and have some imperfections which is why they are priced like they are. However, they are still pretty nicely built and very usable on older tubs.

Typically these would run about $650-700 plus shipping.

If I might make a suggestion, I think you should post current lead times, along with cost (with a time stamped parenthetical for updating both as your thread matures). They are the two most FAQ of all my rebuild inquiries: how much and how long?

PMs may be fine for you, but publicly managing expectations up front is also a good idea.😉

Duly noted and appreciated Mark.

I can give a rough idea of what lead times are if someone ordered today (roughly 3 weeks) but it really can vary wildly especially with tops as they can get hung up in customs (my suspicion is that they look like a several kilo bundle of something else...) fairly often. @Roastchestnuts waited quite awhile while I only waited about a week and a half or so.

Panels and body parts tend to be quicker but I have started collecting orders to place larger orders to save on shipping for folks.

Prices are set to change at the end of the month so I am reluctant to quote anything currently. I will say that my prices are better than what you see on eBay from them. I am not getting rich by any means and shipping is really the wild card.

Also, am I breaking any rules by listing things for sale here in the tech section? I am uncertain.

Let's give it a shot and see what happens:

$1,350 shipped to the lower 48 for a soft top (black or khaki) with a roll up rear window, windows can be tinted or clear. No bows, soft top only.
Deal ends 1/15/25. Prefer Zelle or Venmo.

If you want the above with a bow kit, PM me. I'll make you a great deal.

thats a good deal on the top!! if mine ever gets messed up I may just get another from you! When I ordered from troa over ebay it was at least 2 weeks hung up in customs in miami and then also waited a while on the columbian side in fedex's hands. Yeah I purchased mine in early April and got it on my birthday funny enough. June 5th. I think I was just unlucky. I ordered it at the same time as another mud member too and they got theirs in little over a week if I recall. I was getting help through troa the whole time. They called me a couple of times to help and actually refunded some money because of the delays even though I never asked them too. It honestly was good service and for sure more of a fedex/customs issue.

Hey Ian,

Could you post an accurate pic of the Khaki color please? There seems to be a difference in the Troa listing on the big auction site. Might just be a lighting issue in the pictures too. I'd like to know if it's closer to the darker or lighter top. Thx!

IMHO, if your order is over the broker's fee, you should engage a customs broker, and especially on high value prucheases, such as an entire vehicle, rather than leaving your goods to fend for themselves at the customs house.

I'd say it is closer to the darker one you show. Look at post #2, that is my khaki top photographed a couple months ago.

If and when I start bringing containers full of orders over I'll definitely look into it.

My comment was intended for anyone ordering internationally. It takes much less than a container full of goods to justify the brokers' fees. I've bought less than a short bed pickup load that would have justifed the fee, if it hadn't been handled for me.

I need one of those Khaki tops in my life! Yours looks fantastic, pretty sure it would look beautiful on my 40 as well.

Thank you, I like it.

If you want to inquire please PM me, I’ll have to check and see what, if any, additional shipping costs would be to Hawaii.
