Proudly wearing my MC1R mutation!
All alone in my apartment I literally LOL'd at that post.

ok - so I googled micky rubicon, and I don't believe I'm worthy. Certainly I don't drink enough - and unless you really really give me a reason, I won't get into verbal or physical altercations over he said she said type stuff..
Seems like pooping out bottle caps and getting into tiffs with other members was his MO. Legend has it....
So....How are the road manners behind the 40?
Good looking setup![]()

Kidding. I just thought I'd find a creative way to describe a swerving trailer. Drives REALLY smooth. I definitely felt some stability improvement with the longer trailer tongue that Rice fabricated for me. No excessive bouncing or leaning. The bulldog hitch is nice and quiet too.
Got a chuckle out of that. Reason I'm asking is I'm considering trailer options behind my CJ5. Short wheelbase, don't want the tail wagging the dog...Drives like a snake on cocaine......

Aluminum tube. Light, easy to cut, easy to bend. Downside is welding.Thoughts on sliders/steps/shelves for storage (jerry cans/water tanks, maybe a spare tire)
This reminds me .... still on the "to do" list is to install a tongue skid or a caster
good point. It's gotten pretty heavy. Almost too heavy for me to move around by hand. Would probably do some damage if it dropped.

Yeah. In addition to that, get something that will absorb the shock from the trailer tongue if it happens to become disconnected from the vehicle or otherwise 'drops' without the jack being down. The aluminum (or stainless steel) on the front where the 'V' is will buckle when this happens. It did on my son's R&R enclosed trailer when it jumped off the hitch ball.
I was Hack Designing (in my head) something that resembled a 1/4 elliptical spring and would both act as a shock absorber and a skid.
