Looks good. I'd just put something near that latching mechanism so it doesn't get jammed by gear.

Ya, I'll soon be stuffing most of it with foam as this is (for me) primarily aimed at carrying some longish particulars.

@reevesci, would you ever consider sending a CAD of your design to someplace like Protolabs to have them do a 3D printed or injection-molded version? I'm willing to bet there are a number of people on the forum like myself that would be interested in an inexpensive version to increase the storage capacity but who don't necessarily need an uber-heavy duty design.

Not interested in that.

Inexpensive... Blow molds alone are typically in the 400-1500.00 for a smaller part (ONE PART) I can't imagine what it would be for 2-3 to make up this product. Printing costs for something this size are going to be as much as what I'll charge if not more.

I had Xometry quote a SLS printing job (500 parts- same part) with set up, material, time and shipping still came to 275.00 per piece. The dimension of that piece were 16.23" x 8.44" x 2.13"...

It's on, like donkey kong

My concern is that there's not much clearance between the bumper and the section of the headlight lens under the main part of the headlights. I could trim the little tab, but the plastic underneath is <1/8" from the bumper. Aside from grinding out the bumper a bit in that area, any ideas?

Maaan, everyone's copping my style :D

I never had an issue with the clearance on that part and I bounced the bumper off of all sorts of s*** and flexed the body mounts over corrugations and impromptu/surprise jump where I got a fair bit of air during the Southwest Overland trip.

Just get some bulb trim.
And a Flatlink to get rid of that tongue.

You should be flattered. It ain’t your style any more tho ;)

How close was your bumper to that part Tony? It looks to me like there’s a horizontal hairline crack on the bottom section to the right of that lens gusset. There’s literally less than 1/8” of clearance.

Yeah I’m going to pick up some bulb trim for the gap. I also want to push the driving lights back a few inches and add headlight washers, but I need to get my drill out of my trailer first. Might happen before I leave for the LCDC, it might not. Got a lot going on the next few days, family visiting right now, etc. At least the bulb trim and washers are only cosmetic.

Oh and yeah I’m not crazy about the “tongue” either. I might just put the Warn hook on.

Finally COMPLETE!

If you’re curious about the inside...
...you’ll have to wait til Telluride! :hillbilly:
