I order when sale comes, this way I need it when I need it. With brake booster, I NEEDED it like 2 days before it actually came in. Including waiting time, etc
Ordered suspension parts last sale, still not here, but I need it in about a month from now.

Found a dealer!

Under $200 to ship to OR so covered by the promo.

Ordered a new rad for 48% off MSRP

Radiator arrived about a week later, they managed to ship it out very fast, however, the packaging was awful.
Genuine Toyota Parts and Accessories: Official Online Store of Tuscaloosa Toyota - https://autoparts.tuscaloosatoyota.com/ shipped it out with the toyota box and absolutely no packaging.

Had to straighten a lot of fins but works great and does not leak.

Next promotion is Sept 22nd to 27th for Labor Day according to my rep at Toyota. I can't wait that long, so I just placed an order with Impex.
I called Serra today to inquire about stock and the parts guy I spoke with tipped me off to another promotion he says they will be running around May 19 through the end of the month. Didn’t give details but he said they typically do 3-4 20-25% off sales per year but not always consistently.

I just received my last shipment from Serra yesterday. I've ordered thousands in parts from them this year.

I've order so much, I'm having to build a storage shed. I actually request Eric hold.

I know some here, order from other than Eric at Serra Toyota of Decatur AL. But as I've said; He and his crew, are the best packers for shipping, I've seen in the world. It's what makes him the busiest, in the Southern Toyota Dealerships system.

He is the only one I'd buy (when shipping) parts like; Master, FDS, radiators, etc from.

I'm a little salty they sent me a rear anti-squeal shim kit when I ordered fronts recently. Other than that, all my order/packing/shipping experiences with them have been great.

Man end of September? I guess we should still be thankful they’re even continuing with these sales.

You don't even want to see one of my spare bedrooms. I have more parts than the local dealer the 2000 Tundra and 2002 LC. LOL

I have to agree with this. I received my Tundra steering rack after about 4 weeks and the way they packed it was excellent. It probably could have fallen out of the back of the delivery truck at speed and been unscathed.

I totally agree. The drive shafts I ordered were packaged perfectly.

Sadly that's pretty much the norm -- OEM cardboard box only and dented fins. It's an easy fix but it doesn't inspire confidence. Mine also arrived with a bent attachment "arm" that was easily bent back but was a bummer to see.

I've ordered more than a few thousand dollars in parts from Ourisman Toyota since 1) they're an hour away from me and 2) they consistently have the best regular (i.e. not a "blowout sale") price for parts. They always get it right.

I am in Georgia and started buying from Ourisman back when they were still McGeorge Toyota. Big items too, including a brake booster assembly w/master cylinder and CV Axles. Their prices with shipping were better than I could find locally without shipping costs.
They shipped quickly, packaged the items carefully, and they responded quickly whenever I had questions. Not a paid promotion. Just a grateful customer.

My wife and I refer to this as "spaving" (spending wrecklessly to save a few bucks).....somehow it seems to justify things, LOL.
This next time around I need to get some OEM CV axles, rear control arm bushings, and motor mounts for my wife's 1st Gen Sequoia. That should help justify it... 🤣

Yep, this sounds about right, glad you got something that would work ok in end, but ordering 1 off radiators is playing the lottery. Other posters here have said this before, but paying the extra 100-150 to local dealer is only sure way to get a one off radiator undamaged - as you can check it on spot and reject if needed.

No packaging is one thing - and awful - but even companies who attempt to put protective packaging still have trouble shipping one offs.

In a former life we'd buy pallets of radiators from India and Pakistan, and got them into KC with no problems, but once we started sending them out to branches by 1, 2 and 3 qty's, had endless trouble with inlets and outlets getting damaged. We found ways to mitigate with 7 ply, therm-cool inside the boxes...but then were told those weren't sustainable materials for the earth. 😒

I am patiently waiting for the next sale so I can order all the Control arms and bushings to do an overhaul.
That's what I purchased this past sale. Upper and lowers pulse axles and all the bits and bobs for those. 25% and pickup at the local dealer what awesome. Next on the list is an alternator and possibly ignition coils.
