So what's with the old FJ45? Or is that a diesel too? Makes an old F engine look all too powerful!
that's why I posted it. guessing it belongs to whoever is selling the little nissan from their sailboat...

Hey Nick, we had lunch with Joe Katana and he lives in Texas originally from Belgium and imports cruisers from Europe to US. He mentioned his time living in the Panama and also raced Prados done up, he said to get one of those rigs as the are very good price point. He is currently or planning on three linking a HZJ73 and running ORI suspension..
He said he cleaned out is class and had to push up into a bigger cc motor class and held his own still..
Although those portal kits can get price around 10 to 12 grand..from Europe or

That's cool you met Joe. I've seen his posts, and he seems to be a good guy. Prado's are a good price point. Yeah the stock motor sucks, but the rest is a damn good cruiser.
Those are Volvo C303 portals in that Prado. Not sure how hard to get. The guy in those pictures has done 10s of thousands of kms of back country in Siberia. He's the real deal.
volvos are pretty common.. sweet pea is a cruiser head on pirate 4x4. He is from Texjas and runs those axles with leaf springs and they work great. Support for parts kinda hit and miss, but for the price they rock.. Only downfall is the reduction in the portal boxes that make them not too live able for overland and day to day driving.. kinda like having another low rang tcase all the time.
