I was poking around today on toyota.com and came across this link.

Toyota Owners Official Website: Service Coupons, Owners Manuals, Service Scheduling and More - Toyota Owners

https://secure.drivers.lexus.com/lexusdrivers/home - Lexus Owners

I wasn't sure what kind of information it was going to give me but I thought I'd go ahead and sign up. After doing so and entering my 80's VIN it presented me with a service history of my truck. It included service history prior to me owning it. I had always wanted to get this information but didn't think it was accessible anywhere.

It provides links to the manual as well.

My service history only goes back to 2005 so either the previous owner didn't have my 80 worked on at a Toyota Dealership or they just don't have data going back that far available.

Either way this page is all new to me and has been very informative!

To add to this - Either I am an idiot and have missed every single post ever on mud mentioning this or it is something new available to Toyota owners.

I registered a few months ago. My 94 was dealer serviced only by bob smith Toyota in la crescenta and there was zero history for it on there. Carfax had it though.

It is a tool I used when i was looking for my 100. Lexus has similar info on their site as well. If you use it for a vehicle you are looking for, you do have to lie a bit and claim you own the vehicle.

I could see how it would be very helpful in the buying process.

Cool site. My first time seeing it. After I registered it already had both toyotas listed for me.

There was not much service history for me prior to owning mine but there were a few entries that ill add to my service excel file.

Thanks for the heads up.

IIRC, Lexus had a records across the brand, while Toyota did not. Maybe Toyota has started doing the same now, if that's the case, chances are that there will be virtually no "past" information. And with our 80 series being 15-20 years old, and fewer and fewer people paying big bucks for dealer maintenance on a 150k-250k mile vehicle... probably won't be of great value. I just found the Lexus info online a few weeks ago, while it didn't really change anything for me, it was nice to see it had decent maintenance the first couple years of its life.

Are you saying that anyone with the VIN can go into this site and pull the service history for any vehicle? How does it list the information, just a main topic for the repair, the owners names, ---?? Is this an official Toyota web site?

I only wonder why it doesn't go back further. I cant imagine the previous owner of my 80 having it serviced by a 3rd party from 97-2005 but I guess it is possible.

I'm thinking it is probably because they didn't have a system in place for this sort of record keeping. Maybe someone has some better insight?

Legit Site. Here is an example.

I'm guessing that once you register then all your service will likely flow to this new system. Looks like it will help dealers track you as much as you can keep track of your service; like send announcements for specials on service like oil changes directly to your email?? Kinda scary how everything is going on-line, and what can be stolen by hackers or just snooped on; credit card info, bank records, phone records, mortgage information, now your car's service history; all with your personal information attached, when you did what from where. It's SkyNet and it's becoming self-aware, oh wait, that was a movie.

There is currently no dealer-reported service history information for your 1994 Toyota Land cruiser.

o damn that sucks

See my previous post.

I found the answer to my question in the FAQ on the site...

Why are my services from past years not shown?

For most Dealers, our records go back to late 2004. However, in certain areas, we did not begin storing dealer repair order information until late 2007. These areas include: North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas
