Started moving parts around for the new project.

got the trike out for its first run of the summer. She took a little damage at the gathering (whoda thunk) and needs the rear axle locating brace rebuilt (it is a pretzel right now!) and after all the idiocy that it held up for, I broke a lever putting it in the truck.

I used the stock brace for the hub- bad idea. I will build a much more stout one this time. I still have no idea what I am doing with it. Might give it to a friend who lives in burlington- at least then it would get used.

I really only built it for the gathering.

I vote may 22nd,,,sorry.

I went through all the fluid levels today.

I also rigged up a metal strap to keep the gas tank skid from shifting right and rubbing the drive shaft which it tended to do offroad last year. I have new gas tanks straps but need to find a new (used) skid, and possibly tank as well (mine are beat to hell).

Really need to start buying my axle rebuild parts, very clicky birfs that I think I'll need to replace.

Still need a muffler (but that's no biggie)

The beater 80 is going to need some cash inflow this year for sure.

Ha Ha Ha that was a blast to ride....until I found out there were no brakes! YIKES!

Nat came over to help re-do the steering on the 55. had new rod ends from CCOT and a new heavy duty tie rod plus a custom draglink made by Orange45. Of course one of the ends didn't fit right so everything is about 80% done. Need to find one that'll fit tomorrow am....think the machining was off on the one I got. very weird.

New brake lines and MC tomorrow. Don't wanna skimp or cut corners on brakes or steering....everything else can be mickey moused as usual

Got my T top, leaning post and console mocked up. Stripers are in, bluefish are in, and Tuna has been spotted in the bay....

I just went through my brakes. It was more of a restoration job than a repair job. I can't imagine how bad things can get on the older stuff.

Switched out the MC which was desperately needed. Got extended SS brakelines for the rear since they are very tight after the SOA switch. No idea what brake calipers are on my truck but it wasn't even close to anything that would remotely fit with the new lines. Considering just re-doing all the lines from front to back. Big can o' worms I tells ya.

Luckily I've owned my truck since it had 38K on it. So it's more of aged repairs than dealing with previous owners.

With your situation you basically need to reverse map the modification progression to understand where you are at.

Best of luck with that.

Hope you can bring the truck to the spring meeting or better yet the camp ground.

Well decided that I would try and find the A/C leak in the 80 today.
I removed the evaporator and found that the low pressure line from the evaporator to the fire wall
had several small cracks in it.
I'll have to order one from toyota tommorrow, so much for finishing the job today.
But at least I'm almost sure I found the leak.

I finally got my junk back together and took it for a ride on Saturday.... all I can say is power steering rocks! Here is what was added:

saginaw conversion
30 spline longs
Aisin hubs with longfield hub gear
large bolt pattern knuckles
4x4 labs steering arms and rods with 1-ton TRE's
ARB in the front

Everything seems to be working great except I have not hooked up the air for the locker yet. Also need to get some new tires and then it should be ready to go.

Why did you go with the 1-ton TRE's over the 80 series?

Installed the new clutch and cleaned/prepped a few parts; a bunch of parts and a transmission jack(that SM465 is @#$$%#* heavy) should show up tomorrow.
