Luckily for us, the snorkel is on the opposite side to the radio aerial. No problem here if I have one installed.

So far I am very happy with my TJM snorkel...

*FWIW, removing the power antenna did impact radio reception. Its not too bad in the city, but once you get out of town you can notice that reception is worse.

Me: Honey, I really, really need this for....ummm....the cleaner air it will scoop out at it's higher intake position.

Wife: [rolls eyes]...You are a retard

But, it shall be mine...oh yes...It shall be mine...

You need to move to the dusty west...then the snorkel becomes a 24-month payback (cleaner air versus air filter expense). See if you convince her, and its quite easy out here in the land of dusty trails, its an investment rather than an expense its a much easier proposition.

Or at least that's what I tell myself. :grinpimp:

Mine came yesterday...just need to find a corner of the day to get it installed.

Does anyone with a snorkel notice wind noise at freeway speeds?

It is innate; otherwise, my wife could remember the time to change the oil in her Suburban as indicated on the sticker above her head instead of the thing I said in passing about her sister 10 years ago....

Ok guys...here's the step by step installation guide for the TJM Airtec Snorkel install (scroll down):

Step #1: Have somebody else install it.

News Flash! Just in: US Military abandons waterboarding torture treatment in favor of obtaining highly classified information, from detainees, by having them install a TJM Airtec snorkel.

Ouch, that bad huh?

The template is fine. But with my XL hands its a RPITA to get at the rear anchor bolt/nut; with small-ish hands YMMV. And you need to install that washer and nut at least twice during the fitment process...so that's where a majority of my cussing was aimed :D

Hopefully the "boom box", apart of the OEM inner fender intake, doesn't do much as I decided to abort the OEM inner fender intake section with the "boom box" attached and use flex hose instead...that'll make the install easier too. 3-1/2" ID flex hose, along with the appropriate sized screw clamps, for those that want to have it on hand before starting the job (about 24" long).

Its like anything else...the second time around would be a little easier and quicker...having said that I can see where the new style Safari would be much easier to install.

1 more available

I've got 1 more available. More due in a month or two.

If anybody finds a dealer with a TJM snorkel in stock let me know. Everyone seems to be out of stock till mid January or longer.
