So I’m finally sick of putting air in my tires each week and I gotta pull the trigger on new rubber. Falken wildpeak at3ws or BFg ko2? I’m looking at 909 for the ko2s and 624 for the falkens. Thoughts? I read all the tire posts comparing the feedback so at this point I’m just polling you guys. I’m putting far more miles on the road than the dirt

Dude, get the KO2s...trust me.

Unless any of you have seen ko’s For under 900$

KO2. There is a reason they are so highly recommended. They are worth the money.

My friend paid 1k for his. 33inch with an alignment. There is a reason why K02 is so popular. It produces minimum road noise and it performs very well off-road. Two of my friends are running it on their rigs.

Another good alternative would be General Grabber AT2s, cheaper than KO2s but perform very similar. I love mine, they don't look as aggressive a the KO2s on the sidewalls but the tread pattern looks the same.

Hands down, KO2 if most of your time is spent on the road.

I have the BFGs but just read some really good reviews of the Falkens.

Give 'em a try and let us know what you think.

I'm still on KOs (KO2s weren't available in my size when I upgraded my tires last) - 60k miles on them and they still have a lot of tread.

They're expensive, but they perform well, they're quiet, and they last...

I only got 18,000 miles out of my last K02's. I'm running Duratracs now.

The PO of my Cruiser said that he had major issues with punctures on the KO2s. Said he would never recommend them. I have the Toyo AT IIs an have found them to be quite good.

For what it's worth, I've run BFGs and now run Toyo RTs. Not cheap but best tire I've ever run...aggresse yet somehow quiet. Like gluebin ice and snow. Worth considering.

After that, Id second the Cooper STMaxx call. Run those on the superduty plow truck and they're killer.

I've had two different sets of KO2's on my 100, and a set of duratrac's before that. The current set of KO2's has been great in everything, snow, ice, mud, rocks. My first set was replaced under warranty. There's info on the forum about them. I just saw a set of the Falken at3w's in person for the first time, and thought they looked like a great tire. If I stay with my current size for my next set, I might go with them honestly, especially at the price point. Like others have said, I haven't heard a bad thing about them.

I have run KOs and KO2s on my cruiser and recently decided to try Procomp AT Sports and are blown away by them. Amazing on the road, in rain, in deep snow, and even mud. They come with a 60,000-mile warranty, and they offer a trial period if you don't like them. I would highly recommend.

I've run a boat load of different tires over the years, but on the 100 I've run Michelins, Firestones, Duratracs, Toyo's, KO's and I just slapped on a set of KO2's last week.

For highway driving... Seriously just highway, something like a Michelin LTX will be much more enjoyable. If it's a look you're after the BFG KO2s and Duratracs both run great. However my Duratracs got LOUD after 50% tire tread wear, I don't have enough miles on the KO2's to comment any more than they are quiet, roll true, and look good. For a 35, the first two are saying something.

I just got KO2s (275/70-18) this winter and I've liked them a lot. Great in the rain. Great braking. Seemed great in the snow. Got a good deal form them at Discount Tire. Really good so far. The E-rated tires ride great. Really makes the 100 feel more like a Land Cruiser, all in a good way.

I had the Cooper AT3 on my 80 and loved them. Not sure why I went with the BFG this time, as I really, really liked the Cooper and they were quite a bit cheaper. Overland Journal rated them #1 in their shootout, but that was compared to the older BFG KO. Lots of good options out there for tires.

I've had both KO2's and the Wildpeaks, both in an LT fitment. I'm not an expert, and I haven't done any instrumented testing on them, but the KO2's seem to have a stiffer sidewall but softer tread belt. My evidence for this is the fact that I had to reduce the KO2's tire pressure by 3-5 PSI to get the same amount of chassis drop when deflating tires. And while they're deflated, they seem to handle lateral load better during on-road transits.

But the Wildpeaks, in turn, are more comfortable and quieter on the highway, and even compare favorably to the Michelin Defender LTX M/S. I can't tell if I'm giving up any off-road grip with the Wildpeaks, but if I did, it's probably only a few %.
