I bought a 2000 Land Cruiser a few weeks ago and have been slowly fixing things the previous owner did as well as mechanical fixes. One thing that came up is the headlights bulbs. They needed replacing. So I picked up some 9006 osram nightbreaker lasers and while I was replacing the battery I cleaned the connectors, checked the voltage and changed the bulbs.

I noticed the low beam was above the high beam, which makes no sense to me. Is this correct? When I check the assembly in the fsm it shows the low beam below the high beam. Is mine upside-down? Any help appreciated.

Well, for the benefit of everyone who wasn't there, what was the problem and how did you fix it?

I think @brAvery103 was concerned about the high beam and low beam bulb location in the early glass headlights. The low beam bulb is located at the top of the housing while the high beam bulb is located in the middle of the housing. This configuration is 100% normal and the lens is designed to reflect the light for each bulb as needed.

This is exactly it. The previous owner did some funky stuff elsewhere in the car and it had me second guessing everything. Including headlights.

While I was replacing bulbs the layout looked wrong to me; 9006 low beam above 9005 high beam in a reflector housing? However, this is the correct orientation of the bulbs. I’m happy all the connectors are still good. They were all pretty crusty.
