Fully agreed on the reliability and hassle free running of the Vortecs.

Our family rig is a 2001 GMC Yukon XL (basically a Suburban) with a Vortec. It has 110,000 perfectly trouble-free miles on it. No problems at all. Good fuel mileage, smooth, very strong, very fast, very quiet, always starts. I cannot say enough good things about that truck.

IMHO, the GM Vortec is a great motor. Someday, I will have an RT Customs Vortec 60-series Cruiser. I'm still noodling on how I'm gonna get it done, but it is an eventuality.

HMMM sounds like Rigger is hooked?!:D No worries if you sell the Suburban you can always get another Vortec!

or do it now anyways...

better yet sell the wife! then no complaints!!!:hhmm:

shhhhhhh dont tell her i said that:doh:

I'll steal the Vortec outta the Yukon when her back is turned!

So, who's next????

I think B56TLC was getting ready. But I do have a couple still in works. I have PuddleJumpers 40 going to Austin for a Cut and turn then I will drop an engine in. I have a 40 coming the 19th for a total rewire on a 3FE/chassis. Also have Surffj62 bring his today from La. and I know there are a couple I am missing but...for conversions???

WHO'S NEXT? :grinpimp:

MIL: Man, its lumpy.

Yeesh! You are a magician with these Vortec swaps! That engine looks like it grew there.
