Fully agreed on the reliability and hassle free running of the Vortecs.
Our family rig is a 2001 GMC Yukon XL (basically a Suburban) with a Vortec. It has 110,000 perfectly trouble-free miles on it. No problems at all. Good fuel mileage, smooth, very strong, very fast, very quiet, always starts. I cannot say enough good things about that truck.
IMHO, the GM Vortec is a great motor. Someday, I will have an RT Customs Vortec 60-series Cruiser. I'm still noodling on how I'm gonna get it done, but it is an eventuality.
