So, is part 85214-YZZB6 - wiper inserts for the 80 series discontinued as well. That's the message I just got from an online yota dealer for these. Just the rubber portion of the wiper blade, not the metal inserts to hold it stiff.

Available? Guess I now have to go aftermarket?

FWIW, I bought 3 in May last year at the Escondido dealer.

There is a replaceable blade option from Toyota. Kinda like the aftermarket concept but it has the Toyota logo on it. Got some for mine and no complaints so far. Can get a part number if you want to check them out.

If you've got the part number I'll take a look. Tried ordering part from another source. We'll see

These threads are always just so funny.

Mediocrity is so endemic.

And most all folks just accept it;

Amazingly, even pay more for it.
Mediocrity. Not. Done all I can over 23 years to keep the beast in good shape...right down to silly wiper inserts.

Not the case on the YZZB6. I just got a box of 5. They are ordered through the Toyota tire program. The dealer must order in multiples of 5 to get them. Many dealers wont because they end up with non-returnable overstock. That is unless you commit to buying in multiples of 5.

They are called Sightline. Plastic, they are.

Real Land Cruiser wiper blades are metal like SOLD FRONT AXLES.........

5 blades or five sets (10)?

5 inserts. This insert can also be cut down to fit the rear window. So a box of 5 nets you two sets for the front and one rear. Or in my case one short to go all the way around on my wife's truck and my truck....

My 80 had aftermarket blades when I got it. Are you saying I should go back to OEM blade insert style?

I would indeed. I am a total purist with all of the associated baggage involved......:)

I bought wiper blades at WalMart. And they went on. And it rained. And they worked. Just to razz you a little.

I find myself delighted that sub-standard ChiCom substitutes suit you.

Carry on by all means...:)

Sorry for the long list, just trying to decide what to keep in the storage and what to get rid of right now.

Cheers.

Since I retired from the dealer parts business rat-race last April after 37 years in the game I no longer have a direct conduit available to peruse current part number status.

I can tell you that oak-colored trim is a plus.

Gotcha, I'll wait for Beno to chime in, meanwhile I'll keep all the tan/dark brown interior parts.

Cheers,
