Lou - if you are hard up for a ceramic coater I can get yours done and ship them back to you.

I just got a call from a buddy - my rear bumper is straight and sandblasted. I'm going to try and pick it up later today to weld up my rear dual swingarms. I have most of the pieces cut - just need to tack them in place and have someone with a stronger welder burn 'em in.

looking awesome cant wait to see more your an inspiration

BREAKING NEWS - My 2F is back in Greenville...I just need to pick her up and drop her in!

I wish it was actually that easy. There are a ton of loose ends to tie up before I can turn that key but this is a big step!

Thanks Marshall for the help.

My rear bumper is straight again. A buddy of mine straightened it and sand blasted her. He also welded in a spindle for my tire swing-out. I'm going to put the tire on the d-side and the jerry cans on the p-side so I can see better out the back (hopefully). There is just ever so barely a slight wave where the bumper was originally bent but I think it was pretty dang good and the work was cheap!

I started painting it last night but ran out of time. I'll hopefully finish it this weekend but probably not. This weekend is the :princess:'s b-day so I predict very little garage time.

Rebuilt 2F is in my garage. It is not ready to install yet. I still need to get some desmog head plugs - mate, plane and coat the headers - get a water pump - then drop her in.

I did start welding on my swing-arms for the jerry can and tire holders on my rear bumper. I literally have zero room to spare with a 35" tire and two jerry cans on the back.

Got allen head air rail plugs for sale. Also have the larger allen head plugs for the BVSV's in t-stat housing. Email if interested.:grinpimp:

I sent ya a PM Jim. I def need the t stat housing plugs. Might need some other stuff...

I had planned on cleaning up my tcase and tranny before putting them back in but I don't think I'll do that now. - Maybe a decent scraping of crap off but besides that they more than likely won't get cleaned and painted.

I sent ya an email Jim on some parts.

I got a few hours in last night. I installed the alt mount and alt, and engine hooks on the 2F. Installed air rail plugs. Installed engine mounts.

Do I need to use any sort of sealant on the air rail plug threads?

Does the long motor mount go on the passenger side?

Also got some more work done on the dual swingouts. I cut the arms to length and capped the ends with some 16 ga, ground down the welds and it looks nice. I tack welded the clamps into place. The only pain in the ass is that I want to mount my hi-lift on the back (there is a spot that came with the IPOR tire mount) but it makes the final fabbing of my Jerry Can mount a PITA. It will probably end up looking ghetto but it will work (I hope).

All wheels have been repainted and are back on the truck.

Not necessay. But you can put sealant or anti-seez or loctite or Grey Poupon(tm) on them if you like. Won't matter after a few miles they will be permanently rusted in place due to the heat vaporizing anything that is on the threads.:D

Does the long motor mount go on the passenger side?
Yep, on both the engine and the BH.

LOL - I tack welded my Jerry Can basket into place. Also tacked the two clamps into place and the clamp mount thingy on the bumper. Everything looked really nice. I then looked down and said "Hmmm - which set of marks did I use to tack the Jerry Can basket into place - there are two." Well, I used the first set which doesn't allow for enough clearance between the tire and basket - I cut the basket off - not a big deal - but then had to run inside for the Super Bowl. I should hopefully have the dual swingarms both tacked fully in place by the end of the week.

I haven't been able to get much work done the past few days. I had a BAAAD cough that I gave to my wife. She got so bad that I had to take her to the Dr yesterday AM - Dr says I gave her walking pneumonia -. She is not happy with me!

I got about 1/2 an hour in the garage last night and cleaned up the upper 1/2 of the thermostat housing - it was a mess. Hopefully I'll get the bottom half done tonight.

I got an hour in last night. The wife is still sick so my time in the garage is limited.

I was able to clean up the bottom half of the t-stat housing from my 83 2F - it was a mess. So, the tstat housing is saved and I have a bunch o' small parts on the way. I also dug through my pile of bolts and realized I'm missing a few....

My next big thing to get ready is my manifold. I need to have the exhaust manifold coated :)doh: - I still need to call you Lou) and the two manifolds mated - I have a few parts for those on the way too.

Here is a question for ya.

I'm taking the Pig to GSMTR this year come hell or high water. High water might actually be fun...

I'm locked in the rear but not the front. I know I need an ARB air locker up front but I can't afford it.

I've thought about putting a lunch box in the front but am worried about my long wheel base (turning) and I also have stock axles and 60 birfs in front - no Longs. I do have the 2L mod.

When I'm at GSMTR I would like to run some of the trails that are a bit harder like Guardrail, Helicopter, Schoolbus, etc - but don't want to be winching up everything. I know a front locker would REALLY help but I still want to be able to turn this Pig and not explode my front axle.

What cha think?

ETA: Do I need the 'weather stripping seal' that goes within the clutch inspection cover? I think it is prettttty pricey from Toyota.

Manifold

Got in touch with a local shop that will ceramic coat my exhaust manifold, mate the intake and exhaust manifolds together and plane the surface. They also are going to fix two broken bolts for me. :bounce::bounce2:
