OK I'll bite. I have been chasing the dream of being self employed most of my life.
It started when I was 12, mowing 10 lawns a week. My first lesson came when I wore out the family mower and Mom handed me the bill for the new one. I uped it to a self propelled model.
After going to school for auto mechanics and body work, I became a carpenter and ended up being a general contractor for 20 some years in the Philadelphis,PA and Key West, FL areas.
I designed and built RC helicopter equiptment for a few years.
While in KW I started designing houses and light commercial (basically an architect without a license, had a structural engineer review and stamp my plans) did that until the crash in 08
People had been bugging me to build them bumpers, sliders, cages etc and The TOY Outfitters/Hardline Fabrication Services was born. A guy has to eat ya know. Now I am drifting side ways and shoehorning GM motors into Land Cruisers, my automotive training is finally not just a hobby.
Is doing all the heavy lifting related to my wife's 8 horses a job? It sure don't pay.
