Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on piping size when fitting a 600 x 300 cooler to the front of hdj 80 with 1 HDT engine. What size to run from turbo to cooler 2" or 2.5". And from cooler to manifold 2" or 2.5".

Is one better then the other or is it not worth worring about and say just do it all out of 2.5".

Hey, could you please post some pictures of the IC fitted in? Did you need to do any modifications/ trimming to get it in there? Do you run AC and tranny cooler?
thanks

Sure, will do this weekend. Almost no modification needed. It sits low and I removed the winch, which is in the way if the airflow. I need to refit it as we've got a wet few months ahead of us.. I will need to mod the bullbar and mountings to put some space between the winch and intercooler.

anyone done a front mounted IC with an A/C unit?

on an 80 series yes it has been done.
I have seen pictures but I don't remember where they were on the forum.

Really sweet top-mount Foreal. I'm steeling your aftermarket oil pressure sender mounting idea. Are you still running the stock sender as well?

It's not my set up but I hope to copy the intercooler down the road

As for the oil pressure gauge I have a set up planned just need to get my final parts in and install the turbo

I thought I had posted in this thread.

el cheapo ebay set-up... and poor placement of tubing, but it works great.

Cross country setup, good aussie quality.

Same one here, even on the other side of the pacific the guys at Cross Country were great to work with.

By chance do you know who's fan we're running and what the specs are? I can't get the Skype to work on by mobile...

Hmmm will ring them for you tomorrow, been wondering that lately as the fan has been running really well but is about two years old now. All i can tell you is that it uses a 30 amp fuse and pulls lots of air. That hdj82 setup gave me a total fat, was only under the wagon today working out plumbing, thinking of tying the front mount into the top mount to save getting a flange laser cut. He has a very similar setup to what i have planned.

Was toying with this type of cooler, but will prolly go with a smaller version of what Graeme is running.

Rang today, because my cooler is that age they were running the repco "ice" cooler back then, the new one they have flows more air. The only info I could get was they are from europe and cost 60 bucks for a replacement.

Thanks for checking on that. I too have toyed with the idea of adding a front mount in addition to the top. But I'd like to keep the trans cooler in the stock location and this leaves only with a small space on the right side of the 80.

Keep us informed on what you come up with.

I just received front mount IC from HDP diesel performance. I can say right away it is going to be pretty tide fit :)
IC is huge. I hope the results will be too :)

Looks very much like mine. I have finally fitted it the other way up, mounted with flat bar brackets to the cross beam that holds the bonnet catch, winch now back in.
