Cheers pal, the gopro shat itself so the quality is pretty crap, was too busy driving most of it to get to much footage.
Have been watching a rust spot on either side of the rear end grow over the last few months, found some time to tackle it, gave myself a good chunk of clearance while i was at it.
Both the sections were filled with dirt and mud, the worse one not photographed was a good 40mm solid mud and dirt, the drain holes had been siliconed up.
Added some fresh holes to aid with the flush in the future.
This was the good side.
replacment setion,
Rough smooth and even rougher paint job.
With all the new room thought i"d add some side bars, and what will be the start of the exo cage.
Chopped exhaust.

Got hold of some 78 series rear leafs that I am going to shoe horn under the 73.
Just missing a lot of flex in the rear end, the front moves really well but the tightness in the rear is letting me down.
the new spring are fairly substantial to say the least, early measurements give me 1434mm eye to eye on the new and around 1200mm on the existing.
the eye to locator pin is 800mm on the new and around 600 on the old, so it looks like both front and rear mounts will need to move.
Hoping to create a hybrid pack with most of my pack and the main and armour from the 78 springs.
Just missing a lot of flex in the rear end, the front moves really well but the tightness in the rear is letting me down.

if you can get that shackle angle flattened out a bit more it'll increase the down travel and make the springs open up and flex much better, a few less leaves would help as well, just have to watch out with the increased on-road body roll with the extra flex

Started to do a bit of clean up and re tune on the springs.
Removed the mamoth helper springs, 20mm thick+.
Re bolted, removed the old bushes and sleeves, what a pain in the ass that was.
Fitted new Terrain tamer elastomer bushes, aparrently toughness of poly and flex of rubber.

Did a mamoth night putting the rear end together,
In the end turned out pretty damm good,
Rebuilt the spring pack 3 times , redrilled the axle reward by 45mm, have moved one rear shackle pick back and all seems to work pretty nicely,
Gained about 5mm in lift but heaps of flex, still hard to tell as the passengers side still has the version 2 springs and shackle hasnt been relocated.
New insert to suit the front M12 hangers.

Version 1 hybrid set, ended up filling the gap with the heavier springs.
Tacked up moved forward some 165mm
Ended up removing the rear axle as i need to redrill the locator pin spot, to move it back 45mm.
Did the hangers to match.
On fullish up flex, hard to fully tell as the otherside is unfinished.but good shckle angle.
Early measurment telling me about 120mm of addition lift in the corner, with only one side finished.

Got some time to finis the other side and button done all the gussets and finish weld everything.
It actually ended up 15mm lower in the rear than before but is now so soft, its going to make such a difference on the trails, the up travel and droop are massive now, I'm able to stuff the tyre against the body now and droop is longer than the struts and brake lines will allow.
Will have a look at one more spring combination to try and gain back the lost height or may get some customs made now I know the sizes and so on.
Rear hanger cut and ready to be positioned.
Tacked, you can see where its come from, moved about 100mm ish backwards.

awesome work mate, you just need to sort out some shocks with the right amount of travel and lower the bump stops a bit to stop the wheels catching in the wheel arch's and you'll be unstoppable

Version 6, almost all the 78 and 73 pack now,
Finally got it rite this time.
needed new long u bolts as i cut down the last ones to suit,
They are long as a factory item, had to trim them down obviously,
With the whole rear end floating the shocks are just short,
But on full flex they fit with 25mm to spare with the rear up and 15mm to spare with the front up, STOKED.
Gained a confirmed 120mm on flex, and gained 15mm on the original height,STOKED.
Little more clearancing needed.
Front bump stops on point,

Ticking boxes,
Cut a bit more arch out,
Rough clean and paint,
Brakes are still fairly rubbish so saw mention of spacing out the LSPV to help get a bit of punch back into the brakes, also spaced the handbrake cable out a bit and moved it to the other side of the mount.
Rear line got the spacing treatment too,will sort some longer lines or something a little better in the future but this will work for now,
Kept ripping the exhaust rubbers so hard mounted it.
Cut a bit more arch out,
Rough clean and paint,

Pretty cool! Curious as to how much longer the 78 springs are than the 73 springs. With the relocation of
the front perch, has it changed the pinion angle or is the axle in the same place with the same angle?

Turned out pretty spot on,
The 78 pack was about 250mm longer from eye to eye, which doesnt sound like much but is a huge amount.
The axle ended up and 20mm rear ward after i redrilled the perches, the shaft was to long in the standard hole and wouldnt mount up..
The 78 pack had the locator closer to the front which didnt help the cause, i was going to flip it around and run them backwards but the armour leaf was so nice a fully wrapped on the front.
The pinion angle is pretty much the same, would have flattened out a little as the angle on the springs mellowed somewhat.
Have taken it on some 120km/h blasts and all is solid with no vibrations or wobbles, to be honest its feeling really good on the roads, not front wobble , the rear has softened up a bit and the brakes reacte much nicer now.

Was going to just weld the front half of the roof build to the sliders but thought I may as well put some effort in just in case i need to remove the rear bar so i knocked up some rollcage joiners or tube joiners as they are called.
Started with some 40mm OD bright bar 1020
40mm surface cutter,
20mm end mill.
Radius cutter.
Drilled tapped and counter bored.
Turned some cap heads down to fit nice and snug.
