Local trail, Pancake Rock, San Diego.

Is that Corral Canyon? BTW, that wheel/tire combo looks great! Any rubbing noticed?

Where are you? It's 73 by your house. (Photo Compliments of Mitchell after I cited your temperature reading as my excuse to not wrench on his rover.)

I was in Temecula

Holy Crapola......

Does it still run? ;)

From a local armored vehicle company, truck that went to Irag and was involved in an ambush, including an RPG that didn't arm and went through the frame and fuel tank (diesel, didn't ignite).

Those photos and the others I've seen of armored vehicles post ambush make me shudder. They do their job well, but I can only imagine being inside during an attack must induce serious mental trauma. That's nuts.

Muddy, I briefly ran a steel business that created bomb plating for Humvees in Iraq during the war. Our product was essentially reinforcement steel that was welded to the side and underside of vehicles to prevent damage from IED blasts.

Even then, the plating only did so much. Basically, trying to reinforce Humvees was a very limited strategy. It's plenty easy to pack ordinance and bury it. That helped spawn MRAPs, etc..

IED's are an evolution of warfare, much like artillery in WWI. It's not going away.

New Purchase - 2004

This is my most recent purchase since moving to Denver. Bought it in New Mexico and drove it up. One owner, bone stock (other than some horrible steering wheel cover!), <60k miles. Looking into mods...soon!

Yeah, from what I've read and heard, humvees were not the vehicles you wanted to be in if there were ieds around.

Great pics. That rear leg mod is sweet. ;<)

That's a kick stand, so the hundy doesn't fall over. Ironman used to sell them, but apparently no longer available in the US :)
