Yeti what is that mounted to your DS swing out?

Yeti what is that mounted to your DS swing out?

It is a ammo box with a heavy bracket welded on the bottom where I can place my recovery gear. It will fit the following with no room to spare

1. shackles (2)
2. snatch block
3. tree Strap
4. pull Strap
5. heavy gloves
6. two trash bags

I have been stuck in some spots where getting into the back of the truck was an issue so now its right where it can be grabbed. I have the ladder also but really never run it.

It also can be locked.

Like this one... You couldnt open the back if you wanted to unless you could fly.

Or here where I got stuck seconds after this , high centered trying to climb out of this mud pit. but lucky for me a winch on the front also goes a long way.

17" 200 series wheels wrapped in 34" 285 75R17 Toyo AT2 xtremes.

What do those measure out to in real life? I was looking at the 295/75/16 AT2 xtremes myself, but it's not tall enough over my 285/75/16 Duratracs to make the jump worth while. If I find some 200 series 17s though, that's something I would definitely consider. They look great btw.

There's actually a very interesting story behind this one... (I'm in the white jacket)

So my buddies and I were having a good time being out of school and generally taking advantage of the weather by being dumbasses (plenty of drinking and other festivities). I came up with the great idea to throw on a tow strap and sled behind the cruiser in parking lots, so that's exactly what we did. Disclaimer: I was stone cold sober this whole time.

After slinging a few people into walls and cars and each other we noticed an ambulance pull into the parking lot next to us. My buddy lives at the bottom of a couple hills, at the top of which is Piedmont Hospital, so we had to assume the ambulance couldn't make it up the icy hills so we hustled over to help.

As it turned out, the ambulance had a patient in the back with brain trauma. She had been involved in a collision. After the initial collision another car hit her, so she got out of the car to get over to the sidewalk and ANOTHER car hit her while she was on foot. She was not in good shape... "critical" as the EMTs put it.

I attempted to strap up to the ambulance and give them a pull up the hill to no avail. The driver of the ambulance told me we had one of two options: one legal and the other not so much. First, we could move the patient into the back of the Cruiser and drive her up to Piedmont but that option was not legal. Our other option was to take her out of the back of the ambulance and wheel her half a mile up to the Piedmont Emergency room.

We had to go with option two. Remember, now, none of my friends are clear minded while this is occurring but we somehow managed to keep themselves together. There were about eight of us and about four other men helping the EMTs push the patient on a gurney up the hill to Piedmont. We got a system going where we always had at least eight guys on the gurney pushing with a couple guys trailing to pick up those who slipped and finally one behind all of us with a flashlight flagging down reckless drivers.

We made it up to Piedmont without any snags and the patient was still conscious when we arrived. I have no idea how she is doing now but she will be in my prayers.

Thought this was an interesting story that you all would like to hear, and there's even a picture to go along with it! And yes, that video was actually taken right before this whole ordeal went down (it was shot on my friend's potato).

And here's how things looked earlier that day when I tried going to the army surplus store (it was a dumb idea, I know):

You did a very good thing and you have my compliments. Land Cruiser folks seem to be a cut above.

Great story fishie.

Wow. That's for real? You're a good man. Seriously. Moral of the story? In bad weather, if you're injured, call your LC owning friend to take you to the hospital.

It's still coming down. I'd hate to be down south. This is the stuff we pray for!!
Wanted something out of the back, was nearly buried alive when the cornice broke off the top. Not looking forward to digging out. I'm betting I can hit the gas and go:)

Took my 5 year old, 2 year old and 5 month old out for a snow run with the Colorado Land Cruisers (my 5 month olds first wheelin' trip).

Started off great, pulled a Ford Ranger and a Cherokee back on the road.

Then we got into some deep stuff and had to pull two of our own rigs back onto the trail. I was one that slide off (trying to back down a hill) and got a little body damage.

Good times....
