There's actually a very interesting story behind this one... (I'm in the white jacket)
So my buddies and I were having a good time being out of school and generally taking advantage of the weather by being dumbasses (plenty of drinking and other festivities). I came up with the great idea to throw on a tow strap and sled behind the cruiser in parking lots, so that's exactly what we
did. Disclaimer: I was stone cold sober this whole time.
After slinging a few people into walls and cars and each other we noticed an ambulance pull into the parking lot next to us. My buddy lives at the bottom of a couple hills, at the top of which is Piedmont Hospital, so we had to assume the ambulance couldn't make it up the icy hills so we hustled over to help.
As it turned out, the ambulance had a patient in the back with brain trauma. She had been involved in a collision. After the initial collision
another car hit her, so she got out of the car to get over to the sidewalk and
ANOTHER car hit her while she was on foot. She was not in good shape... "critical" as the EMTs put it.
I attempted to strap up to the ambulance and give them a pull up the hill to no avail. The driver of the ambulance told me we had one of two options: one legal and the other not so much. First, we could move the patient into the back of the Cruiser and drive her up to Piedmont but that option was not legal. Our other option was to take her out of the back of the ambulance and wheel her half a mile up to the Piedmont Emergency room.
We had to go with option two. Remember, now, none of my friends are clear minded while this is occurring but we somehow managed to keep themselves together. There were about eight of us and about four other men helping the EMTs push the patient on a gurney up the hill to Piedmont. We got a system going where we always had at least eight guys on the gurney pushing with a couple guys trailing to pick up those who slipped and finally one behind all of us with a flashlight flagging down reckless drivers.
We made it up to Piedmont without any snags and the patient was still conscious when we arrived. I have no idea how she is doing now but she will be in my prayers.
Thought this was an interesting story that you all would like to hear, and there's even a picture to go along with it! And yes, that video was actually taken right before this whole ordeal went down (it was shot on my friend's potato).
And here's how things looked earlier that day when I tried going to the army surplus store (it was a dumb idea, I know):
