I'd say we just show up and do what we've always done.
All we need is to setup groups to do certain tasks like setting up the spaces where people will camp. Organizing the 1K run. Organizing the poker run.
It should not take that many people, it shouldn't be too hard.

Regards

Alvaro

This is something I will gladly participate in.

I think maybe we should do something special, this being the Ultimate SnT...
Remember that year (2004?) when we spelled out "TLCA" in the sand for the aerial photo? (The only time my Pig was on the cover of Toyota Trails) and then Jim led us single-file up the beach a mile or so and turned around, a big LandCruiser parade and we got to wave at a couple hundred 'Cruisers as we passed each other? There's a video of the parade somewhere here on 'Mud. It is one of my fondest (remaining) memories of all the SnTs I've been to.
Not saying we should spell out TLCA again, that's been done. 'Though it might be kinda cool if we did it with a lot more rigs. But we could spell out something else ("SnT"?) or a picture :)flipoff2:) or something.
The "Parade of the LandCruisers" would be fun to do again, and might be a good way to start the poker run.

X2 on the parade. I've never been involved in one of those, but always looked at that video in awe.

Course, that's just me.

I agree with Alvaro 100%.

All we need is a benevolent dictator replacement if Jim is indeed passing the mantle.

We're making plans to have that week avalable as of now.

I just gotta ask jim this though, is there some inherent rockstar plan that went into this specifically being the last one?

I'm just asking because I know you all always try to make sure to throw a great event that always takes things to 11, and this although being the 10th annual is technically #11 and happening in 2011.

I know it surely would be a great t-shirt idea to use! Feel free to take it and run with it, all I ask is for 2 adult and 1 youth size.

We love you too Mace

X2 Nothing againest TLCA they had there chance along time ago to get involved from my understanding and didnt.

I've talked with Jim Multiple times, he's never wanted TLCA involved.

From what I have seen (my 4th year at S&T, 2nd year at rubithon, and 2nd year at Deer Valley), S&T has buy far the most people attending. To drop this event without replacing it with another is just foolish. The TLCA should consider making this one of their events not only to get more members but the money that can be made by registration fees, t-shirts, key chains ect. Possibly Jim can sell or hand over the naming rights, or some of us TLCA members can organize a new event at Pismo and just call it something else..........just my 2 cents

As others have pointed out, as soon as you try to get any group to organize and profit from this, it loses much of the vibe, good karma, etc.

Additionally, what do you charge for? why would someone want to pay TLCA (or anyone) to attend their event, since you can drive down to it for $5. It's not like Rubithon, where there are organized (and disorganized) runs. There are no facilities that you can use to run this from.

As Alvaro said, it can continue, in a modified format, but you can't really run things like a Cruise Moab, or GSMTR, or Rubithon.

I have no doubt that two years from now, there will be a lot of Toyota 4X4 enthusiasts who will be at Pismo. I think that Jim has gone above and beyond, and it's time for some others to take on some of the cost and responsibility.

Thanks

please, whatever happens don't change the Nov. schedule. This time of year seems to work for the majority of people. My thought on the t-shirts too- Whatever the imprint , you should make sure it says the years (Under Jim's Guidence) 2002-2011 on it! then start fresh from there on.

yea, we can also get together with corolland.com and priuschat.com.

should be sweet!

 Point goes to Skillet. My bad. :D My point is Slosurfer's right there in SLO and is making progress into a great event, I could see him taking up the reigns is all.

:popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::beer::cheers:

Hmm... I had no idea this was a limited time event. Never had my 40 in the beach sand.....Looks like that needs to change in 2011.
