In the eyes of the State Parks, SNT is just a bunch of people camping around each other, if it was an organized event, it would need permits and various requirements met. Its a fine line to walk.

Heck, for the ULTIMATE SNT, I might just have to dust off the swb45 and bring it out for the special occasion.

Don't tell Georg, but I might even bring a trailer!

this year was my first time going and it was the best time ever i will be at going next year for sure. please dont let it be the last one it is just way to cool to end...

what made this event even more special is that it was run by volunteers, informally, with good vibes and no registration fee. Just a gathering of buddies and good people. Which made people want to help and/or come. Have some organization try to step in and try to make money off it and you can likely say goodbye to some of the good vibes and see the attendance and congeniality decrease. If Jim decides to stop organizing this, I think we should try to follow his legacy and keep running this as a volunteer operation.

BAD IDEA!

From what I have seen (my 4th year at S&T, 2nd year at rubithon, and 2nd year at Deer Valley), S&T has buy far the most people attending. To drop this event without replacing it with another is just foolish. The TLCA should consider making this one of their events not only to get more members but the money that can be made by registration fees, t-shirts, key chains ect. Possibly Jim can sell or hand over the naming rights, or some of us TLCA members can organize a new event at Pismo and just call it something else..........just my 2 cents

GOOD IDEA!

X2 Nothing againest TLCA they had there chance along time ago to get involved from my understanding and didnt.

I don't think Jim would take offense to the event continuing under the same name, the same weekend, but without his thorough involvement. That's why it's such a cool event, it has a cool leader!

Jim himself said it best, to Kathleen, Sean and I as he was describing his word choice for this year's prize board:
SNT works because he is a benevolent dictator. No committees, no votes.:hmm:

That is why you cannot hand an event like that off to the TLCA.

So the way I see it, we've got a year to think about other benevolent dictators!

The only one that comes to my mind at the moment is.............Woody!:)
