I have close to 100 miles on the sniper. She is running great. Still a few small tweaks to make.
The terminal removal tool arrived as did some rubber plugs which @JDNs78FJ40 was kind enough to share.
Thank you. I will get the 10 pin from the sniper harness waterproofed this weekend. Left work today and had a cousin 4 times removed parked next to me

I’m very interested in your thoughts as you get miles on this setup. My 1970 whispers to me in the night about snipers, vintage air and an 8274. Ive got Rbbmc stuff in my chevelle and very happy with it, but you and letterman are the first real world users I’ve seen of the power surge.

Had a weird work day which will only required my presence from 1130-1400 so in between dropping kiddos off to school and going for a run I replaced my accelerator rod boot and weather proofed the sniper 10 pin

None so far. We’ll see what the summer brings. I considered mounting it on the drivers side firewall or fender
however I was hesitant due to the header being on that side. Others have used the CC bracket with success.
Not sure if it would truly make a difference with respect to possible boiling. Lines to and from the tank come up in the area of the passenger side pointing to a more natural fit in that area.
Ill measure today to see how far away it is from the block. Pretty close to 12 inches.

Most of my drive to and from work is 35mph. The Iron Yak had a sweet spot of about 46mph prior to the sniper. That is no longer the case. She likes to run north of 50mph. I’m going to have to be careful not to get dinged by the PoPo.

That’s what I was thinking in reference to the fuel lines: my glass bowl filter is as close as the power surge would be and I’ve checked it and never noticed excessive heat there.
This is off topic-ish, but did you consider an in tank pump? I’ve been looking at the universal kit from Tanks Inc. and others. Just gathering info at this point and curious on people’s choices and reasons.

@Skreddy if I had unlimited funds and or skills/equipment/time I likely might opt for an in tank pump.
But as it stands….I knew my project would be a one man job. (with limited skills/ tools/space/time)
And this man is in the middle of raising two kids( 7 lacrosse and 5 volleyball tournaments between now and the end of April) and works a lot. My rig was down for a month +/-. Did not want it to be down much longer.
Knowing that some mud members have gone this route with great success gave me peace.

4Plus flip kits look sweet, and make a ton of sense if you do much wheeling. But they are more spendy that I would have thought...
