Looking very good - love those 16" rims and the white truck color (hides all manor of sins...)! That is a sharp truck and you have done all the right things to it so far, IMO.

You might want to put some sort of anti-theft device on it and insure it well with a collector car company. Murphy's Law and all....
It is insured with a classic car company. As a matter of fact the renewal is coming up and I need to increase the insured value by 5 to 10.
It is kept in the garage. Most of the time I leave it alone is at work and although possible I think less likely someone would steel from a small hospital parking lot.
My last 40 had a battery disconnect in the glove box which was awesome. Any suggestions on anti theft devices?

A guy in Denver had his '40 stolen from his locked garage. I would think an ignition or fuel cut device (or both) would do. If they are going to tow-steal it, it won't matter what you use.

I haven't done this, but I always wanted to put a DPDT switch in the ignition circuit so that if they tried to hot wire it (with the switch thrown) it would short out their hot wire (you wire the DPDT switch so that it cuts the ignition power AND shorts it to ground). How about a brass fuel on/off valve plumbed to the outlet of the underseat gas tank? Hidden under some carpet (and partly hidden by the console) this could be VERY effective. The truck will start and run on the gas in the carburetor for 100 feet, before it dies.

'The Club' is a mostly-visual deterrent, but stops those who don't show up with a hack saw. Remember, the goal is to get them to go steal someone else's car by making yours a pain in the butt to steal. In some areas, putting the transfer case in neutral is enough to fool the morons stealing them, who are barely conversant with manual transmissions, much less transfer cases.

The best thing you can do is not park it day-after-day in a high risk area. That's when people have time to develop a plan to steal it. If you erratically drive it to your office, that will help.

Search on Mud - there are many clever anti-theft ideas, some of which are very inexpensive and easy to do.

I think your pretty safe in the small beach community especially right now with the bridge out. I’d imagine 1 or maybe 2 car thefts a year in that zip code are by people who know the victim.
Out west auto theft seems to be more common but can never be to careful. I keep meaning to do a battery cutoff button Also.
I left my tcase in 4 low In the past so someone would need to be versed in tcases to drive off fast. Post up what insurance you end up with. I’m using hagarty and have had an ok experience with them.

I bet it’s empty over there right now after the storm. My wife was at the vet near your hospital the other day and stopped by our old house. Looks like the storm took out some mature trees in the area and flooded a good many homes. Good to hear you came out ok. I miss living over there but do feel bad for those whose commutes went from 15 minutes to 2 hours when the bridge was damaged.

Thanks for your input Brad, John and I just talked about getting together soon for a cruise. Will let you know if we do.

OH OH, I KNOW - - 031 White. You're welcome!

Thank you Lee

Hey there, can I ask where you got the hose clamps on the air intake tube?

GREAT thread
thanks!
If memory serves I got them from NAPA.....Stainless

Not the best photo. I can get you a better one if you need it but I’m out of town until Friday. I bought a standard L bracket from Ace Hardware, cut it down a bit, primed and sprayed black.

Do it yourself from scratch - Respect.

Mine is similar to @Purpleaction , a homemade bracket on the booster/master cylinder mount:

The message above was to you.....I am a retard and quoted the wrong post.
As a side note..that is the beautiful thing about this forum..The collective IQ is off the charts.
I can work my way through most things but it sure is good to have input from those who have gone before you. Often saves time and money.

Got a good deal on a used confer complete with mounts and a real nice platform that is a piece of 7 ply Rhino lined on the top with diamond plate on the bottom. I used a Por15 kit to degrease and metal etch today.
Once the Por15 is on I will add Top Coat with chassis black.
