I gotta think a new transfer case is easier than reselling the axles. But it’ll be fun to watch. Why are you needing to change the axles around a bunch? The centered rear?

What transfer case would be best for a Driver side drop and centered Rear ? Plus i have the axles already and they do me no good just sitting on the floorI gotta think a new transfer case is easier than reselling the axles. But it’ll be fun to watch.

Tundra diffs mean you change axle housings again, that makes zero sense. Another member @Mike Shull just got his atlas 4 speed, I think it was 3 or 4 months out? So you can definitely get them, but its not like Amazon prime delivery so I understand that doesn't really help for the June target date.Agree a atlas would work . BUT good luck getting a atlas right now and also thats another 5k . I have the Axles just sitting doing nothing so i will use what i have . I have a Turbo 400 in it now . It may be after i get it together and take it out a few times i will find things i want to change . Then if i need to i can get a Atlas . This thing has to be trail ready by mid June . It has to hold together till Oct . I will then see what i want to change . Maybe then it gets a LS ? nv400? Tundra Diffs ?
We we’re just pointing out other options. It is your toy, do as you will.Relax guys its going to be ok.
Oh i know , and i appreciate that . The thing is i already own the axles and they are not of use to me now so why not put them to use ? Even if i left them as is i would still have to cut them down because they are to wide for the 40 . I had them made for my FJ cruiser . My point was After i get this thing going i am 100 percent sure i will want to make changes to it even if that is a full rebuild its ok . As far as the Blue 40. yes it is trail worthy , But so is my FJc , or My Samurai prior to this Or, the 4400 ultra 4 car i am building. I just want this one ready by JuneWe we’re just pointing out other options. It is your toy, do as you will.

All Atlas transfercases were 6 months back ordered as of June of last year. I got my Atlas in December.Tundra diffs mean you change axle housings again, that makes zero sense. Drivers side drop and centered rear? I would be looking for a take-out Jeep Rubicon 4:1 t-case.
Is the blue 40 in your photos not trail worthy, or is that someone elses 40? Just curious.
I’ve never seen them installed this way. Your very first picture looks more accurate though I can’t tell if that is the front or rear.
I have a set of built fj 60
Axles I plan on using and I will do a spring over then . I can use these lift springs on my other 40 . Win win I think. Anyways the plan is to swap axles. ( fj 60 with ARB f/r 488 gears Rcv axles . I need to build a cage and get this thing running. It has no wiring
but it came with a brand new harness
The mounts would be for the front . They just stick out really far . I think what i will do is once i get them tacked in and everything is were i want it i will mark them and cut off anything that is sticking out past what is needed . I wish i could just see a pic of someones but have been unable to find any . As far as the springs i would be interested but do not see myself driving to CO to pick up . I was looking the other night at the front end and if i linked it . The only issue i am seeing is the exhaust runs down the drivers side inside the frame right where the upper link mount needs to be . hmmm.I’ve never seen them installed this way. I have a set of extended Alcan springs that I will be removing in a few months if you are interested. They have about 50k miles on them and they are intended for a SOA with shackle reversal and a 97-98” wheelbase. They work beautifully and I almost kept them installed with my new setup had I not changed my mind to go with coilovers. I’m in Colorado and I’d prefer a local pick up if you are interested.
Here is a link that I have saved of the outrigger installed. I saved this when I was considering this setup. I don’t have any other references. After I installed my Alcans I satisfied my needs for stability. Had I done this setup again I would have used the outriggers. The mounts would be for the front . They just stick out really far .
