I bet it feels great to get that sitting on it's own. Good job! Tell me more about your hybrid driveshaft, from flange to flange?

yes it feels great. of course there are always more thing to fix and tweak here and there once you get it up.

The driveshaft- At the t-case I used a CV joint from a 4 runner, and at the diff I used the landcruiser u-joint. I had a local shop put the two together and balance in for $94!

took it for a test drive today after I got the brakes finally working. Shifter broke off right at the base. I was stuck in 4th gear. I was able to work it back into 2nd with a hammer.

Welded it up real good this time it should not break!

"It's dark out so the pics are not that great. I'll take some in the daylight when it is all done."

Let's see some driveway shots at least!

that's not too bad... mine sits about 26" with 39.5s. Remember it'll probably settle and inch or two in the next few weeks as well.

By the way... you need some real tires on there now. :flipoff2:

Looks great man.

Axle Wrap

Are you taking any precautions with the SOA to avoid the infamous axlewrap? :crybaby:

I am going to order some tires in the next week or so. I think I will stay with 35"

x3 on the 37's (35's are really 34's, so 37's are just 36's)

Looks great. Broken is right, it'll settle down nicely...

Hey Tony,

Have you got a photo of your welded stick? I have not done mine yet. Other than the weld giving up, any other issues with the shifting or staying in gear?

Check out the thread below for what I have been busy with! Post 18.

Talk to you later.

Lookin good Tony!,

how is it driving on the road wo/ the Cut and Turn?

37's would fill out those wheel wells pretty good!

it would be nice to get it a bit lower from where its at, but time will tell!

as for the axle wrap, take a look at my buildup for what i made for mine, Ive got extra steel if you need it, and it cost me about $150 or so.. WELL WORTH IT, although i did run without one for a couple of years.

Ok Ok So I am going to go for 37's

WOW does this ride amazing! With the shackle reversal and suprisingly without the cut and turn I have virtually no steering issues. The thing tracks dead straight even on the screwed up roads in Colorado! I don't even have my steering stabilizer in yet.

heck yeah baby!!!!

I just wish I would have done the spring over years ago!

Looks GREAT man!
My rig has settled some too, but its still an acrobatic routiene to get in it!
The only reason I have so for wanting to go with 37's is the appearance. 37's+ LOOK BITCHIN...
But I havent come to anything YET where Ive NEEDED anything bigger than my 35's....
WHen the 35's wear out, Ill have hopefully saved some money for Longfields and then I may go that route too.

GOOD JOB!
Nice welds too!
