My original tank had two fuel pumps (primary and backup) and I made this mount to hold two also but because I’m not racing I’m just putting one in for now. Picture shows everything mocked up on the new top, you can see the old section of tank I cut out and the thank was supposed to be .100” 10 gauge but measured .080” 12 gauge and I was concerned about hanging the weight of the pump form sheet this thin, luckily I was able to reuse some old parts from the target carrier.

New fuel sending unit, pump plate and fill neck all bolted up now and I’m hoping to have a plan for mounts tomorrow.

Bosch 044/61944 Universal Inline Fuel Pump often referred to as just Bosch 044. An inexpensive durable reasonably high flow pump, really popular for LS swaps and performance cars.

It’s been slow going with real work getting in the way of buggy work but I am still making some progress.

Lower radiator mount was fabercobbled together from some scrap laying around the shop, still need to strip the three coats of paint off whatever the steel was in its previous life and finish the battery mount then move on to the fuel tank mount and I should be mostly done with the business end of this reconstruction project.

Radiator, battery and fuel cell mounted for a test fit so now I can take it all back apart and start on the ice chest and sway bar mount.

Again using crap laying around the shop I found a chunk of 1/4" plate to make the fuel filler mount.

Drill a few holes to lighten it up and I think it will work OK.

Now on to fitting the ice chest and sway bar.

Yes, this is now my favorite cooler.
Bonus points for keeping the beer cold but I would use it even if it didn't.

I wasn't there to witness it, so others will have to chime in, but from what I was told that cooler sacrificed itself to save the blue pig from further carnage.
