Any significant driving impressions with the step up to 17s?
I'm on 15s, and been thinking of going up to 16s for to accommodate a future Tundra brake mod but retain the most sidewall. The selection of tires stepping up to 17s is significant though.

I have the same Toyo tire and 17" wheel combo, same tire size even. Had them for almost 2 years and I like them a lot. Great in snow!

My steelies are fading so much now going to have to repaint them soon.

I did this because of you. Thank yourself lol

I did a run up to the hill country to put some miles on the new tires. I sold my 70 wheels to a buddy and delivered them.

I think the mom and pop tire shop didn’t balance the tires. They didn’t even line up the green dot to the valve stem. I’ll have to take it back to them.

The truck drives great but I definitely isn’t as smooth as I was expecting.

300 miles on it with the ride in the car that day. All positive.

I finally got to see @CenTXFJ60 ’s place. I would have taken a or picture or two but it was far too cold in there. Props to jimmy for roughing it.

Thanks to @samc2447 for letting me takes parts off a project truck. Made the trip worth it.

How’s the tread depth on those?

It just keeps on going. 83,000 miles of daily driven goodness by me on an already worn out 2F.

The 17” wheels came in primer and faded quickly. I liked the finish and color but it didn’t work out. I did a quick spruce up with rustoleum semi gloss and primer.

I’m trying to be fancy on a budget. I even used far less spray paint than I expected.

Maybe I’m finally growing up? 2 15 oz cans of paint and 1 15 oz primer did all 5 wheels.

nice need to do the same thing to mine.

I’m gonna go darker on mine. Not black, but charcoal or something like that. I’ve had enough of “machine gray”. Thanks for the inspiration… as soon as I’m done with the laundry list of big work I’m gonna bust out the rattle can.

It’s so good it’s boring.

I had a belt chirp at idle. It was just worn and slightly loose belts. It all snugged up nicely. No more noise.

Finally got my last new tire on the back and threw the jack back on to make it ride better. I had 200 lbs of sod in it and it’s almost plush with the load in the back.

I’m loving these Toyo AT3’s. They’re great in E sidewall and super quiet. I’m sure they’ll be fine for wheeling. The dumb part of me misses the look of the KM3’s but that’s not how I use the truck any right now.

I need to get the truck leveled out. These OME CS005 front springs have really sagged. I’m going to try 1” taller front shackles from @cruiseroutfit this week.

I’m also looking for a set of used sliders. WKOR, trail tailor, 4plus. Cheap and ideally dented. Just like this truck. I have to keep the active conflict zone theme.

@HemiAlex just nuke the OME and come on over to Dobinsons. The water’s warm, you’ll like it.

We sell as many extended shackles for folks fixing Dobinsons rake as we do OME rake. We stock both and hear plenty about both. Ford vs. Chevy :D

Thanks for the help, order placed!

This should level my front out. I'm 1 inch down in the front and it used to be level.

It's amazing that the heaviest springs would sag on a truck with a 2F and a winch/bullbar.

You can add an additional leaf to the 5F for higher spring rate, but it starts getting too firm and the extended shackles are a better option.

Without some measurements it’s hard to say but many interpret spring settling as sag. The 5F is really a 50mm spring, so 2” over stock. When installed they can lift more like 3-4” over sagged out stock springs but should settle to their 2” height after a years (or less if you have a heavier build that gets driven/flexed hard).

That's all what happened. It was super high for a while and settled much lower. I've had this truck wheeling for at least 50 days in the last 6 years, often doing really flexy stuff and it probably broke the springs in.

Thanks for the insight. At the point when I have to look at adding another leaf, I'm going to get a whole dobinsons kit from @samc2447 and start over. These OME springs and Bilsteins have been super great, on and off road...but they'll make someone else very happy.

This truck gets down way harder than a truck with just tires, lift and a 5 speed should. Love it.

Not saying the Dobbies don’t break in or sag too. I just like the ride better 😎

Does that make me the Chevy guy of FJ60 suspension??
