It won't...

You know if you guys make a ct26 to dsm td05 adaptor you have access to a lot of housing options as oppose to this particular one.

Okay, someone please explain what DSM means? I hear this a lot from guys in US/Canada and it means nothing to me.

I've tried but it's a pain in the ass to get anything custom done up unless you want to do a run of parts and shell out the dollars for a bulk order. Not worth my time or money to sit on that stuff for one turbo.

I want a TD05H turbine with an 8 cm housing and a 18g comp wheel all in a Toyota CHRA

Well considering driving on a flat highway at 100km/h going with a Gx (td05h16g 7cm) I am looking at 12-14lbs boost. My waste gate is set to 20.

Little high for my likings.

The 18g with the bigger ex housing would be better suited in my opinion for highway trips.
I don't think I will have a problem getting it to boost with a good AFR meter tune and with the hilly environment I live in.

I'm just stuck at this point because it's either get something small for low end or upper end. There is just too much back pressure for my likings with the smaller exhaust housing setup.

G'day guys, feel free to ignore this post it it has already been covered (I will get the hint and re-read the topic)...
What is the quality like of the Mamba turbo, and how would the above turbo go on a hj61 compared to the standard turbo running factory boost? I do a lot of highway driving, but also need decent 0 - 100 pickup due to having to pull out onto the highway every morning..... Thanks heaps!!

Here's a bit of info comparing all the aftermarket performance options. Yes it's a TD thread, but the manufacturers all make Toyota options as well, so the information is relevant. Of interest is the section regarding the Mamba, Kinugawa etc cores. You do get what you pay for with a budget turbo.

turbo connoisseur's - FNQ Offroaders

FWIW my GTX3071R made 250 rwhp (180kw) on 35 psi, 0.63 rear housing at 21:1 AFR, the GTurbo which is replacing it is the 350+ hp FTE core (I'm assuming 20g equivalent) in a HDT housing, and Graeme has stated it's good for 40 psi, should crack the 300 rwhp mark comfortably.

Just to clarify, do we know if either of the above Mamba turbos bolt directly onto the 1-HDT?
Yes, the flange is standard
