There is always an excuse for raising gas prices right before and during Spring Break weeks, just an opportune time to soak those of us with kids and having to take those weeks for vacation. Oh well, just a few more years and we will be empty nesters and can go at more reasonable times of the year.

I just did 2500+ miles down to West Palm Beach and back to south of Houston

I averaged 15.9 mpg in a one-ton diesel on 37's towing a boat on the way back at speeds between 65 and 75 mph. Considering the distance, speeds, and circumstances I was quite pleased.

You did pretty well. I have made nearly the same run in my (sold) Tundra, towing a boat back from Marco Island to TX. I averaged about 12.5 most of the way, except one tank going west on I10 into the teeth of a front in March… where I averaged 7. Wouldn’t want to do that today.

Yea, when we left Sunday morning I expected diesel prices at $4/gal, not $5+. A $1+ jump in 24-36 hours is unacceptable especially when fuel was already up $1.20/gal before this increase since looney tunes took office. I ran down there at 70-75mph and averaged 19.1mpg and slipped in just under 13mpg on the way back. The cold front winds and the stretch from Jacksonville to Pensacola with the rolling hills is what drug the average down on the return. Had I only been running from Pensacola back to Houston I would have seen 15+ on the return trip.

I think we all know the increase is because of something much more politically and corruptly motivated than spring break lol.

Respectfully, what could be more political and corrupt than $$$$? Once everything is boiled down it's about money. It's at the center of all politics and corruption, just saying.

Happens every year regardless of what who's in the WH or Congress.

Incidentally, not wanting to go any further into the political discussion, not because it can't be discussed rationally (and this is one of the few places on the the internet that it MIGHT be able to be discuss rationally) but it's like discussing religion at the Thanksgiving table, to much risk of alienating good people.

Amen and pass the gravy… just paid $70 to fill up at HEB before it crept over $4, even in H-town.
So, @Tex68w or others - What’s the feel for that late April idea that was floated? Any consensus or others keen on that? I didn’t vote “officially” in the poll but that rough time probably could garner a vote from here if it comes together. Even if 2-3 said yes, that might tip the scales.

I am not opposed to something but I doubt Big Bend is still on the table for most.

I’d been down roll with y’all. Just recently acquired a a stock lx570. Located in north Dallas.

FYI, some 2018 LC frontend stuff for $25 if you're willing to come pick it up (NE Austin suburb).

Anybody want some stuff? You can take any amount of it for $25 (I'm incentivizing someone taking all of it, as opposed to just part of it).

All 2018 LC 200 stuff:
  • OEM front skids w/ bolts
  • Front bumper skin (no fog lights)
  • Front bumper backing stuff (aluminum bar, foam, brace)
  • Front grille (no emblem or camera)

I saw the SoCal owners thread and it got me thinking about how many Cruisers are here in Texas. Outside of California and possibly Colorado I don't think that I have seen more Cruisers in any other state. So if you own a 200 Series Cruiser and live in Texas post up and let us know about your Cruiser along with a pic and where you reside within the state. Who knows, maybe we can put together an annual Lone Star 200 Series Cruiser meet up, possibly in Big Bend or down on PINS or at one of the National Forests or multiple off-road parks. I'll start things off.

I think I saw your rig on 35 between Bay City and Van Vleck a few days ago.

Got my 2011 rig in November 2020. I looked for years before I bought this one. Got it from Philpott Toyota in Nederland. I didn't believe how clean it was on pictures so I took a shot and drove there. As they say, the rest is history. It was a one owner with under 50,000 miles and all maintenance records. I checked it out and negotiated with cash money (due to vehicle age, financing is tricky for dealers), which they appreciated. Ended up getting this 200 Series for $40,000. Completely stock, all factory. Shorty after that the car market went crazy. Glad I puller the trigger. I live in Pearland, south of Houston. I do my own maintenance now. Stuff like oil change, other fluid changes, filters and tire rotation. Next on the list is some new tires. The BF Goodrich KO2s are at the top of my list (stock size). I drive all over Texas to see my customers, so meeting up is not too hard for me.

Just came back from LSLC Roundup at Katemcy Rocks in Mason. Always great to see other 200 owners at events. I have wheeled mine there and this year used it as a tow rig.

Looking forward to meeting more of you as events come up!

Is this Imogene pass? Were you able to do the whole trail with your 200? It looks completely stock.
I did Imogene in a stock G500 with stock tires with ease. Stock LC200 should NOT have any issue with it.
