BTW--I haven't seen any 5 window pictures. Am I missing something? The 7 window tops look great, but how about the 5 window tops?!?!

Dan

this is the 5 window top (with sides and rear flaps rolled up). notice how it doesn't have the two tiny windows in the back?

Gotcha. It's the two corner windows that are removed. I guess I thought it was that the two side windows were combined into one big one.

Learn something every day....

The green top looks great with the dune beige. Wish I would have done that, I went with the kakhi, dune beige combo. I agree with everyone treat the top early. I treated mine right off the with Canvak. The top still faded and the 40 spends most of the time in the garage. I did treat it twice, even after the first treatment I let it sit out for 2 days in the rain and it started to leak on the second day. A second treatment seemed to do the trick. Got caught in a bad thunderstorm on the way home from a weekend out she stayed dry inside.

How does the top work if you have ambulance doors?

How well do the sides roll up, if you have tried that yet. Do they go up into nice neat rolls? If the sides and the back roll up nicely and tuck out of the way I think that is almost as good as a bikini top. Let me know if/when you get a chance to try rolling up the sides and back

Thanks for the pics

Here's a picture of a truck with the sides rolled up. The nice thing is that they roll up on the inside and make for a nice clean look.

Looks great, can't wait to get mine put on. Been working 6 / 12s / nights for the last month and have had no spare time. I am curious where you got (or will get) the twist locks (aka common sense fasteners??). I've been looking for a source with the threaded stud/nut on the back but have had no success. Can only find the type with two screw holes or the screw.

Also, is there some sort of bracket that I am missing on the inside top of the w/s frame? The bow piece that goes over the door has a stud sticking out of the back. I think I need an "L" shapped bracket or something there.

I found the canvas work to be excellent. Thanks Ehsan, the top and bows were worth the wait.

You'll need to buy the twistlocks from Toyota p/n 65928-60010...you'll need 10 of them. Get them from Dan at American Toyota. Also, you need the canvas eyelets, so order p/n 95678A678 from McMaster-Carr , you need 2 sets, they come 5 of each to a set.

You need the brakets on the windshield too.

anyone else have their buckles rusting on their Eshan top?

i blinked and mine rusted to carp.. my top is from a couple years ago.. word has it the buckles he now uses are a little more rust resistant.

**Ehsan was kind enough to send me an entire set of replacements because of my rusting situation.. i just got them recently so haven't swapped them out yet.. they look just like the old ones.. we'll see.

Where is Maguires available and is it as good as Canvak?

Thanks for the advice.

Maguires is available at most boat stores.. or online.. i got some at West Marine.

I only know 1 other person who's treated with that stuff.. and it's hard to say how well the stuff really works IMO because the rig stays in a garage most often.. but it's easy to apply and is virtually stink proof.. i put it on my top and it still leaks.. but the integrity of my top may have been jeperdized (sp?) when i re-died it with acrylic decking stain :hillbilly:.. now that it's getting warm again i'm gonna canvak the heck outta my top and see how it works out.

For more information check out JohnnyC's helpful thread on Canvas Maintenance.

I'm working in Afghanistan (IPOR Mid-Asia Division), and have a good friend working in Paki. Anyone know I can get in touch with this individual? Also, about how much does the top/bows, etc. weigh?

Thanks.
