From @OTRAMM ? Although I've heard they're not great. I have these on my 80.

I've had them on for 3 years and just swapped out the EBC green pads i put on with the rotors for oem pads. Unsure on mileage but probably 15k. Still flat and not grooved, no pulsing pedal. Yup, like them for the price.

I believe cruiser outfitters or cruiser brothers sells the terrain tamer brake set
 
I put Power Stop rotors and pads on my Tundra in September 2017 and they have been great. They sell as a kit for all four corners on Amazon.
Very pleased with them. If they can handle a tundra towing 7500#, then they should be great on an 80.

Also wasn't a huge fan of the rotors. They seem to eat pads fairly quickly. Had one set warp on a customer's 80. Replaced them with EBS and all has been well. The warped rears actually made their way on to my 80 :)

Pacer, why don’t you like the terrain tamer rotors?
 
I had TT pads and rotors on both the 08 and 06 and felt the braking performance was markedly improved and dust was very low. Both those vehicles are in other members hands now, so I can’t speak to longevity.

I was reading some mud reviews last night and there are guys who like them and plenty who don't. I was just wondering if they offer any substantial improvement over the other options out there, especially considering they are hard to get right now.

Agreed, mine warped (Ben's ex '08) while towing what I consider to be a mild load with working trailer brakes.
I was pulling some big hills on my way out to Gary's house, but using the gears and trying to conserve the brakes.
 
I've read plenty that "warped rotors" are most often actually rotors that have not had the pads bedded properly. I found this to be true in my '97 - the PO had installed new rotors, calipers and pads. They pulsed badly after a few hundred miles. He tried new pads; no go. He replaced rotors; same thing after a few hundred miles. Swears he knows how to bed pads. There was minimal pulsing when I bought it. It got worse rapidly. I found a method of "rebedding" and it worked like a champ. A few hundred miles later...pulsing. Apparently, the deposits that the pads can leave on the rotor during bedding can become cement-like and impossible to fully remove, so rebedding simply makes the matter worse after a while.

As an aside, NEVER let your brakes get really hot and then hold them at a stop. The heat can cause pad transfer that is irreversible.

The ones that we had warp were bedded in well. They did great with one driver for several months. When the owner went on deployment the driver changed and their style was full on the gas or full on the brakes. Killed the brakes in short order. In that case it wasn't uneven pad material but in fact actual warped rotors. I did EBC pads and rotors as replacements and they've been holding up well to the same driver. The other set of TT's we did the rotors seem to be holding up well but the pads were completely worn out in less than 6 months. Those I think got replaced with parts store pads that are still going strong. The TT stuff stops great it just doesn't seem to have the longevity. Granted I've only used them the 2 times. Factory Toyota rotors are my favorites for holding up well.
 
What about just the pads on OEM rotors? Are they any good? The Heavy Duty pads?
