Tank pressure in the summer (1 Viewer)

I have noticed that when I take my gas cap off to refuel, if the temp is above 75-80 outside, that I will have a lot of pressure exit the tank. I thought there was some sort of vent for the tank to relieve excess pressure. Is this not the case? If it is the case, can someone point to its location? Note, if the temps are in the 50s-60s, this does not seem to be a problem.

The charcoal canister is on the driverside fender in the engine bay. It is no longer available from Toyota. Many have had good luck with generic canisters.

The FSM has a procedure to test the carbon canister.

I replaced my oem one with the vc120 unit from autozone. No more hiss. Ever.

A properly functioning vapor recovery system will hold pressure, that is how they are designed to work.

I did the vc120 canister too and it hasn't happened to me yet. so far so good.
