T handle, seat recline

I received the knob. Thanks @FUTURE MUDDER ! It is a little more complicated than the other knobs that I have been casting. I am planning on filling in the back side of the knob similar to how the SOR reporductions were made. This will 1. make the handle stronger and 2. make it easier to release from the mold.

I should have an initial concept this weekend. I will post up with the results as soon as I get to it.

Could someone post up what the mating shaft looks like? Does it have a flat? Is the screw hole threaded?

Thank you. I mainly wanted to ensure that it had the flat. The flat would make things a little more difficult with the mold. I think that it may be necessary though.

Update: Making the missing part in clay provided a unsatisfactory replica. It didn't look right. I may take @HelloKitty65 on his offer to borrow a complete T-handle. I am still experimenting on how to make the flat for the hold in the Tee handle. I should have some results in that regard pretty soon. Sorry about the slow process, it has been a busy couple weeks.

Providing an update on the casting process. I am having a difficult time getting the rest of the T handle to cast. I can get the D hole to produce nicely but the current mold is providing to be difficult.

When I was a kid my father, who was a jeweler, taught me lost wax casting, and the use of a centrifuge. Looking at your product and knowing nothing about the process, I just wonder if a centrifuge would be of value in your process?

It very well could be. I am a complete novice when it comes to casting. The centrifuge may help with getting the mold fully filled. I will continue with testing and trying some new ways. This is a pretty challenging project so far.

I just looked at the cost of centrifuges and its a little cost prohibitive. I may be able to make a manual one with a bearing and crank handle.

I took a different approach (as usual). I was missing all parts. I bent a piece of steel for the bracket. Made a pin out of an old spare bolt I had in the Bucket O'Bolts. A washer, spring and round knob from the local hardware store,

and I had a working latch.

I think I had an extra centrifuge in my dad’s warehouse. If it was there when the fire happened, it’s gone But, IIRC I may have given it away to a jeweler friend of ours , who is likely not using it.

Well, I have not been able to make a nice reproduction Tee handle at this time. The shape just provides too many avenues for air bubbles with my rudimentary casting skills. I am sending back the Tee handle that @HelloKitty65 was so kind of to let me use. I may re attempt this feat in the future but for now, it's a no go. Sorry for the crushed hopes and dreams.
