(pic is off a 4 speed t case, 1976 fj40.)

I'll keep it plain and simple, looking at the pic provided it shows the gear on the output shaft clearly misaligned.

And with me not taking any pictures prior to tear down I don't know if this is normal,

is it time I drop the t case again?

Camera's play funny with angles sometime. Big gear on top left looks like it ate some dirt or metal. It also appears wider than the lower gear it runs with. Did you have the assembly apart - perhaps a spacer got on the wrong side or the thickness got change.

Hopefully someone that knows 4 speeds will chime in. I have one on my deck, but I haven't looked inside.
I would think the manual would have spec's, pic's or drawing.
Transmission - 4 Speed Shafts & Gears - Specter Off-Road - https://www.sor.com/cat/064 they list a rebuild manual for $10
Or you can look for a free download

Tough to say from photo so hoping someone chimes in.

Yeah, well i had it apart to change the seals because it was leaking baddd. I made sure the spacer were back in the right place.

Also, the gear in the top left only goes on one way? or it would seem so it sits inside the seal.

again not familiar with this t case if y'all couldn't tell.
