Are there any sources for cheap swithes that fit the unused LC 80 punch-outs in the dash board? I found some over at Cruiser Parts, but those are $30-$80. Ridiculous.

Sorry for the repeat post, but the most recent I've found is from over a year ago and many of the links are broken.

$68 plus shipping but if you want a factory looking switching with perfect fitment, this might be the only way to go. You will have to go to a junkyard and pull the wiring harness out of a hazard switch on a junked 80 and re-arrange some molex pins. If wired correctly, this will be a lighted switch that dims with the other dash lights.

^those would fit perfectly in the existing coin holder slots on the center console. At $9, you wont find anything cheaper.

It's been forever, but it was Corolla (IIRC) foglight switches that were ~$12 ea.
Fit the knockouts, no backlight but off/on light, look the part in dash.

I have them, I got the idea from Ben @ Slee - he gets the credit.

I have couple of hi low fan switches (3 way) wired to auto on with hi beams and manual on. Also used a defrost switch for other lights. All work great and i may even have a couple extra. Pm me if interested and ill see what i can find

I used a cheapo from the hardware store, and cut out the "punch-out" to fit it... looks like its supposed to be there.

The pick n pull is your friend when it comes to switches. There should be plenty of 4runners to pull switches from.

I use OEM defroster switches for my lights. OEM fit, quality, feel, and you get an indicator light saying they're on, if that matters to you. Hazard switches are an equally suitable alternative.

Radio Shack had on/off plain old metal toggle switches for (IIRC) 6 bucks. Fit right in the covers, offset a bit, but are a great fit otherwise

Thanks for the great suggestions! I really like the idea of installing a few in the coin holders (I actually love switches in that location). Any suggestions on where to run the wires from that location through the firewall?

The 80 has an existing port on the firewall just to the right of the steering column as viewed with the hood up - can't miss it, it's a good ~2" rubber grommet. Excellent point to pass all your wires through.

Added bonus you're already on the correct side of the engine bay to take power up to stock USA FZJ battery location, so routing is made extra easy/clean.
